A few more photos of my S4 Avant in the snow

Saki, off topic, but would 15 mm rear spacers and 10 mm front make it understeer (more) or is too small to make a diff?

You remember it? Yep, he was asking 55 at first.

Yeah, that’s great. He had a Ferrari I think…and before that a 997 turbo in bright blue…and now he has a GT3 RS I believe.

Or it’s the other guy in London lol.

You have quite the memory. GT3. He’s now looking for a Scud I think… super great guy.

This is the car I just missed out on lol. But actually I’m happy I did miss it and happy it went to a good home!

He got an X5M. I’ll have to meet up with him at some point, sounds like a nice guy.

The other guy has an RS4 with a custom sound system.

I’ve never seen either RS4 driving around.

Sorry and thanks…

BTW, why are you happy you missed it?

Sorry that sounded well dodgy. Given the opportunity I would’ve definitely bought that car. It is no doubt a garage queen and a very clean car.

My comment was more that I’m glad I’m sticking with my Avant. I developed some sort of gooey eyed attachment to the old girl that has resulted in me not being able to list it for sale. The RS4 would’ve resulted in more debt, so good from that POV.

Axel, any regrets on the trexturk DPs? Do you have cats?

I drove down our street once with about 18" of fresh light snow on it. I could barely see anything since the snow was all going right over the hood and windshield. It was amazing that it didn’t get high centered since I’m about 2" off the ground. I saw a neighbor later who said “that was crazy, your car looked like a submarine!”

It’s all about the power (well that and the fact the snow was so light). Subaru makes an amazing AWD system, we’ve had 2, but they’re so under powered they get stuck in deep snow then smell like an oil refinery when you load the engine.

For $500? Hell no! They’re great, sound great, holding up really well even though I’m plowing tons of snow and hitting stupid raised pavement bits in the centre part of the road (some of our streets need some serious attention).

If you have a 4.2 S4 and want catless DPs (mine are catless), Trexturk’s is definitely my #1 choice.

I know he was selling or sold his car… do you know if he still makes/sells them?

And I also thought he only made pipes for locals, maybe I misunderstood though. Did you have them shipped to you?

No idea if he sold his car or if he still makes them but he did ship them to me and only charged me $20 for shipping to Canada. So my final price was $520 all in. Pretty damn good price IMO.

He responded to an email and told me he was waiting for more parts to make more. I then responded that I wanted some, but haven’t heard back yet…
