Anyone else see this about Stasis/Revo?

I wonder if they are negotiating with its creditors and/or actively searching for investment dollars.

Not sure what their overhead is, but I don’t see how they sell enough stuff to make it work without paying warranty dollars out.

A little update on my situation with Stasis. They did end up repairing and rebuilding my dampers. They pulled the parts they needed from production dampers. They covered the one that was blown under warranty, and the rest for free due to the miscommunication (even though I repeatedly said I would pay what we agreed to for the rebuilds).

At the end of the day, I’m happy with the outcome, but still don’t know entirely what to think about their situation. They assured me they could do rebuilds and warranty work moving forward; there was just a short-tem lack of parts. At the same time I definitely got the impression that there are some things going on, and not everyone knows what is going to happen. The one thing I can say is I had no issues actually getting in touch with them, and they were very responsive in all cases. They are definitely still there and open for business at least in regards to the people I have dealt with over the past several months.

I guess I’ll say kudos to them for stepping up and doing the right thing. They do need to communicate better both what is going on, and also in how they handle issues like mine. I think they at least acknowledged (without saying it) that telling someone they don’t have parts, don’t know when they’ll get them, and to go deal with someone else on the repairs (PSI) combined with all the other rumors out there is maybe not the best way to handle things…

so what happens next time they need rebuilding (stasis recommends every 20,000 miles I believe)? Bin them and get something else? Or can you go to someone else for the service?

Saki, those were my thoughts exactly. May consider cutting losses and moving on to a product that will be supported. I learner my lesson with a set of Stasis tracksports on my B5, they informed me that they no longer serviced the older Audi suspension, but of course still sell new

Stasis is good and hateable lol

They say they will be able to do the rebuilds again at some point, but I also found two other places that can do it; albeit for quite a bit more than what Stasis charges.

I have a set of H&R springs on my car now, and a set of ST coilovers I had installed previously. I am not sure what I am going to do long-term at this point. I may just leave the springs on, and sell both sets of coilovers. My goals for this car have changed a bit, and I am probably going to pickup a B5 S4 soon just to play around with and beat on (like in the next couple days). It already has a pretty nice setup with Penske shocks/coilovers, Stoptech brakes, stage 2 ready for stage 3, etc…

I actually really like the Stasis coilovers, but not sure if they are worth the trouble at this point.

I would sell them after they are rebuilt.

I may do that. Should have them back Friday. I also think I am going to pull the trigger on the B5 S4 I have looking at which gives me more motivation to see both sets of coilovers, and the other stash of parts I have been sitting on for a year…

^^ Start a build thread on here if you go forward with it.

The B5 a done deal. I’ll post a thread when I get started. I’m probably going to pick it up this weekend. I know the owner/enthusiast pretty well as he is a long-time Audi owner from my hometown. His wife also has a B8 S4.

The B5 has a lot of mods already, so my plans are pretty modest (RS4 bumper, some sort of RS4 type turbos, and racingish seats, wheels). It needs a few things to clean it up. The Penske shocks need to be rebuilt, maybe some bushings, front boots, and it should be good to go.

It’s a 2002 with around 120k. It has Penske shocks/coilovers, all Stern parts, Hotchkis sways, Stoptech 332mm BBK/B7 S4 rears, Tourag coil conversion, intercoolers, exhaust, tune, stage 3 clutch, and several other little things. I’m pretty excited to have a new project.

My plan is to do the pulley/tune on the B8 S4 first (in the next few weeks), and then I’ll get going on the B5 in the next month or so. I’m semi-retired at the moment, so this is just something to keep me busy. I am only paying $7500 for it, so I figure if I need the money I can sell it for at least that at some point. I’m planning on starting an Audi/VW shop whenever I decide I am done being retired, and figure it will be a good project car at that point.
