Anyone want to troll tweets4estate on Audizine's 'vs' thread? (keep it shhh tho)

there’s a good running APR supercharged RS4 with a countvohn tune on it in Detroit or somewhere in Michigan.

Here’s what it did to a stage III B5 S4 with frankenturbos + VAST 93/meth + full exhaust + ER IC etc

Car ran 11.8 in the high teens, full weight, full interior, pump gas.

The APR blower is smallish, but effective. Just like K04s.

^I can’t help but click that link and watch the video 10 times every time I get the chance. Never gets old

I got a little Rs6 car that would like to race this said 11.80s car.

looks like we have another b5 troll on our handss that cant seem to bear the facts that the 4.2 is catching up and will eventually surpass the 2.7 as the dominant platform. so if you happen to lose to this said 11.8 car, what typical excuse will come out of your mouth? clutch? boost leak? misfire?

^^^well since we started this thread as a joke to troll a B5 thread on audizine I think we’re kinda even lol

true, but to come on here and make a name ‘8urv8’ is the epitome of troll

91gl I’m in for some pulls if I ever get my car finished.
If I lose ill put some nitrous on and come back for more.
I’m in nj as well.

well, if someone races him and beats him, we’ll have god change his username

Where in nj r u. Me and 91 r up by nyc.

Bring it… $$$$$$ what ever amount you want on the street from a dig roll what ever… No b6/b7 s4/rs4 stands a chance

I would like to race as well…i dont car what car platform you have they are all fun…if I had more money i would have a RS4 like sackofmojo and i would spray it and blow it!!! But now i can only afford my two tone imola avant Bfizzle but would like to race

I’m 45 min. North of ac, exit 76 off the parkway.

While I know your excited even you know this isn’t true. The gap is deffinitly getting smaller. The V8 has carved out a good gap. I know the typical B5 guy has a small ego and is very close minded. So Ill chalk your post up to more excited then factual.

I think this entire ryvalry is fucken stupid. They both have something to offer. Its clear most V8 guys are not going to run out and get a B5 and like wise. Why its so hard to enjoy what others haev seems kinda 4th grade to me.

^I don’t get it either. IMO most (not all) are just trying to defend/justify their investment in the platform and keep it as “king” and in ranks of supra power achievements; rather than admit the B6/7 has finally started to catch up/surpass in several areas. Personally I really like the B5, and have several times thought about picking one up to build for big reliable power, but know that means spending money in some crucial areas and doing it right. I may still pick one up, but imo, the “reliable” power car is now the B6/7 platform, and within this year, the 335 is going to be the “big power” platform, not the B5 (support and tuning just can’t be touched in the BMW world for german cars). Billet wheel oem turbo swap 335’s have run 11.1@127 (about $7k all in cost iirc) and single turbo now is over 600whp on a stock motor still (probably less than $10k cost). When will one of those motors pop? No one is really sure, but it is evident they can take quite a beating on all stock motor components.

The B5 will always have allure as a B5 S4 can be picked up for $5-$10k depending on how good of a condition one and what your plans are for it (I’d find one with a trashed motor for pennies and build it personally). And cheap power always has value, appeal, and a following; but the ongoing variables and various dilemmas have stunted the growth for quite a period of time. I think there are some great builds coming out soon, and JHM’s recent involvement & nitrous kit will bring some awesome options/results, but the fact is more and more new cars are able to “easily” attain some serious power (new mustangs for one as well).

I love the b5 but if weew being honest. Its kinda a joke when you look at the B8 and what little it takes to get into the 11’s. Not to say this isn’t making the V8 look any better. Just saying.

I feel its the owners that are more of the issues with the B5 then the car itself. fact of the matter is most of the B5 guys that taks smak don’t even have cars that run

I love the fact that more B5 owners are joining the site and mostly joining in the banter. We seem to be getting a good representation from B5 through to B8. I agree it’s crazy how little it takes to make the B8 fast though.

bravo!

Not me. I’d buy someone’s fully built car. they sell for peanuts. There’s a guy who can’t give his fully built tial 770 car right now on AZ. He’s down to $20,000 I think. That’s what his motor build probably cost.

I started a thread on this once. Was called ‘what does it cost to go 11s on pump gas?’. Is it here somewhere or on AW??

B5 S4 = $8,000 car + $8,000 build (K04 and a nice, full modlist) = $16,000

B6 S4 = $15,000 car + $10,000 SC/exhaust = $25,000

B7 S4 = $20,000 car + $10,000 SC/exhaust = $30,000

B7 RS4 = $35,000 car + $15,000 SC = $50,000 (JHM will be even cheaper)

B8 S4 = nobody has done it yet…however it’s at least a $40,000 used car plus about probably stage III which is $10,000+ = $50,000+

B5 S4 is still king of this list (by a big nickel).

I started the thread because I was tired of people saying the B8 is so ‘cheap’ to mod and go 11s in. When I pointed out the cost of the car ($45,000 minimum back then) + the cost of primetime’s actual modlist (not ‘just a tune’) they went nuts and said I was being ridiculous. I guess B8 S4s are free where they’re from lol. My response was, 'well, in that case, I don’t even need to spend the $7,000 to 10,000 that primetime did if I want to go 11s. Hell, I don’t need to spend a penny…and I can go 10s! I’ll do it for $0 in mods in a 997 II Turbo S PDK. Of course they said ‘that’s ridiculous’. I don’t understand how people can be SO SHIT at comprehension, yet afford a $50,000 car. It’s incredible.

I like that we are seeing a few 2.7t transplants into the b6. I have worked on one and i have a buddy at RAI doing one as well. Imo you get the best of both worlds that way.
I’ve even heard rumors of a w8t cabby s4…
blown motor b6= $4-7k + motor and junk 12k= 16-19k

let’s look at that. I think we can agree that the B8 S4 = B7 RS4 in stock form. The RS4 may have the slightest little edge, but if it’s there, I don’t see it as worth even talking about. Call them equal.

OK.

To get a B8 S4 below 12.50 it takes a $1200 REVO tune…and in coming months we’ll see if that’s the best choice or not after REVO customers have had a chance to test the reliability of the tune. I hear it’s a real knockout :D. If you go APR, you’ll probably struggle to get below 12.50 with just a tune.

To do the same on a B7 RS4 it takes almost nothing (free piggies + $650 tune). The gap is not that big at all. To get deeper into the 12s, you need more mods on your B8 on pump…and you need a full 2.75" exhaust on your RS4 (around $3000 total now)

If you want to talk about race gas, so be it. I don’t really bother thinking about real world fast with respect to race gas, because in order to race me on the highway in a chance encounter, are you going to tell me to follow you to the nearest race gas station…dump out your pump gas…load up your race file…then run me? No. You’re going to run me on 93 or 91 then say ‘but if I had my race file I would have walked him’.
