APR Presents the World Premiere of the Eaton TVS1740 Supercharger

I would wait till you get home primetime. It’s basically Arin filiming the speedo but from the passenger seat, so it’s on a bit of an angle…and they rip through a couple of gears, shutting down at 130 mph (speedo 130…so about 125).

60-130 (speedo 60-130…so about 57-125) showed around 9 seconds. Not sure if 8.2 seconds or 9.8 seconds…i just used the youtube counter which showed 17 start to 26 seconds at 130 indicated.

I guess that’s pretty fast knowing that my car was like 13.7-13.9 seconds which is probably what a stock B8 S4 would be since thye’re so similar performance wise.

edit just looked at Tsivas data: fastest stage 2 guys were around high 10s, low 11s but that was in perfect weather (-1000 feet) and with no passengers .

Stage 3 looks pretty quick.

It’s still pretty warm here, but it’s actually getting much nicer. I’m guessing it was in the high 70’s and fairly humid. Much better than the 90-100F humid summer days.

I’m in the same boat as you, Ron. Eager to watch!

I’m most likely not pboxing on the street anymore after my run in with the staties.

Do tell

We’ll see what happens at the end of the month, but they weren’t happy.

that’s funny…he said that within 7 minutes of posting this video going 130 on the road lol

The time you mentioned is impressive given there’s a passenger, driver has an extra 2nd to 3rd shift at 60 that we normally don’t do (just start in 3rd at 50), and also has a slight holdup with the rev limiter at the top of third before the shift to fourth.

Our fastest pump summer time was iirc 11.00 secs for APR stage 2, stock cats.

Have you guys changed/upgraded the clutch? I thought you were on aftermarket already for some reason… could be wrong.

since the clutch is slipping in the video, I highly doubt that they’ve changed it

the car has a dxd disc and pressure plate

bummer

at least this confirms that that majority of people that complain about slipping arent making up excuses haha

No I’ve experienced it first hand dude in both S4 and S5 form. Nobody doubts that the clutch is weak I don’t think.

i was more poking fun at the b5 excuse list haha. i didnt realize the v8 s5 had the same issue i figured the car was too low on power(in N/A form) to force the clutch to slip

So you thought a 3800 lb AWD quattro car that makes 300 tq. isn’t making enough torque to make the clutch slip on a hard launch? And a ~360 tq B8 S4 does?

What colour is the sun in your sky old boy?

i guess i just havent really seen many people complain about it with the s5

they don’t drive them hard lol. For some reason the racers get the 4 door family sedan and the sedate guys get the 2 door sports coupe. Explain that one!

I drove my friends S5. I launched it 3 times within about 25 minutes. On the third one, it slipped. Left it to cool and it was fine. But that was it. He wanted me to take it to the strip, but I declined…didn’t want to chance it. Car was in good shape otherwise.

On the B8 S4 I launched one a couple of times and had no problems. The third time, same deal. Slipped, and I just got out of it and let it cool. Same clutch, so it makes sense. On another B8 I launched it 1 time and it blasted off fine.

I think it’s the repetition. i.e. 3rd or 4th run at the strip is when guys have problems (unless the clutch is knackered from being abused at home or on the streets)

I wasn’t driving, and who said it was a public road?

Arin - what kind of testing are you guys doing on the DSG Stage 3?

To clarify, the B8 S4 DSG. Not sure if there’s any difference between that and the RS5 DSG.

I’d like to be the third request for loading the video on this site so I can view it.
