B8.5 and B8 First Time to Drag Strip

You’d be surprised… If timed right the rpm’s sweep up very quickly and the car engages hard because of the delay and shoots out of the hole… Tire pressure, track prep, conditions, etc play a role as well but again you’d be surprised how much the technique can yield if done correctly… These care are setup very well from a gearing and suspension standpoint for some of the best 60ft times by any street car…

What’s your best 60 foot?

Not sure what our friend Brian is trying to accomplish with this repost of drobs post? Some kind of odd call out to bash apr results and praise epl would be my guess… Still haven’t seen the post with his logs or results from the meth e85 tune…

Yea pretty cunty with no purpose other than to start a stupid tuner war.

Reported and they yanked the thread, good job AZ, seems like they’re paying more attention to the B8 S4 section…

Pretty much… He’s more than welcome to discuss here as I don’t think he’s banned, but that may illicit some good discussion… Vendorzine not so much…

What did I miss? Something with saxon? If so, he actually is banned from here. Too much of a tool.

Gotcha… His userid says restricted so I wasn’t sure… Saxon posted all the text from drobs post here and led with something like" drobs post from audiorevolution, not sure why he didn’t post here". Lol

LOL he’s such a loser. As if drob is obligated to keep saxon apprised of all of his AR posts.

He just crudely C/P the OP with some stupid leading title. I don’t really give a shit about talking about the poor times and have already mentioned it in AZ threads. But that was just a jab to start another APR problem thread. Not sure why he’s so bent on shitting on others given how incredible his tune and home flashing are.

Sigh…

Hey sax on, since I know you’re reading this… Come to Thompson this Sunday when it’s supposed to be in the 80s and I’ll be glad to show you an s4 that runs 11s in 2500+ da… When we gonna see any epl car run 11s?

+karma to PsYK and mmmkam for sticking up for drob and AR in saxoff’s troll thread.

The AZ crew will learn soon enough what we already know about that guy: he’s a shill for Tony@EPL and is as deceptive as they come on an Audi forum.

This thread is honestly not that interesting, just mediocre times in mediocre conditions. What AZ needs is a good “B8 S4 Expectations” thread like on the front page here. Problem is that can’t exist on AZ because the masses are more interested in shitting on each other than rationally discussing things.

Anyways, I’m happy with the way my car is running and am looking forward to better 1/4 times once the weather cools down. Not sure what more saxon is trying to extract other than getting swank and co on the APR war path lol

Yeah, not sure what else he was looking to achieve. :o

Interesting that the AZ mods are clamping quite hard on AR references.

I know a few people on the A/S/RS5 forums have found my brake threads useful and I openly linked it to them. Hope I can continue to do that and not have to say (got to the ‘other forum’ lol).

What are the mods doing on AZ deleting the links?

It sounds like a previous thread was deleted there (about this thread).

Never under 1.9x so not great. I put that down to it being all that could be achieved with s-tronic and no launch control, but I take it that it is possible for improvement here.

I have mixed opinions about LC on the B8 S4. It always seemed to bog down for me.

That and Ron (primetime) doesn’t have it and he doesn’t seem to mind… :stuck_out_tongue:

Graham, You can do better 60ft wise even stock…

Stock - mid 1.8x is good… I had numerous 1.8x 60s while stock
Stage I - mid/upper 1.7x to low 1.8x…
Stage II - high 1.6x to low/mid 1.7x
Stage II with LW mods like wheels, tires, brakes will get you low 1.6x to mid 1.6x 60s…

My best ever in stage II forum with LW mods is 1.620 and I’ve done dozens of 1.65 and below… A few others have as well and I believe most are non LC… Jeff and Pete(dad’s car) have more experience with LC so I can’t comment on that but neither has beaten my non LC 60s even with 17 inch wheels… shallow stage, correct air pressure, and practice is the key… Best part about this car is cutting very similar 60s on the street…
