What were the other guys mods exactly? where are those timeslips? Is he DSG or manual? Are you?
I incredibly well thought out. If all the information you mentioned is correct what’s the expectations for a stage 1 dsg car?
Low 13’s in the winter. And I bet a coke hansel was running his ac and listening to techno in the que line heat soaking his car to 11.
Arin, I’ve tried to help Ed with logging, interpreting the logs, and explaining why I think his car is slower than he’d like it to be… From what I’ve seen 95% of his issue is the fact that he shifts from 1-2 at 5800RPM and 2-3 and 3-4 at 6000-6200 RPM thus never really hitting the power band… The other 5% is the coniditions… His MAF readings and boost values aren’t great but he’s logging in high temps and humidity which I tried to explain to him… He is a very nice fellow but takes lots of explaining and doesn’t want to seem to accept some things… I told him a switch to Revo would be foolish as the car will shift early… With that being said I still think there is something different with the 2014’s as there is a GIAC car that ran mid 13’s with tune and DSG tune… Figured I’d share FWIW…
he shifts from 1-2 at 5800RPM and 2-3 and 3-4 at 6000-6200 RPM thus never really hitting the power band
what the hell…same as drob’s logs
that’s a great way to kill your 60’ time and all ETs thereafter. You change to second at redline in a B8 DSG car at 7000 at what…32 mph normally? You’re probably hitting 60’ at around 35 mph so first and part of second count your 60’ time. The manual guys change to 2nd at 40 mph, so they’re through the 60’ by the 1-2 shift.
If you’re changing at 5800 RPM on a car that shifts at 35 mph at 7000 , that means these new cars are shifting at around 29 MPH…and are being dumped down to 3500 RPM in 2nd…where you have to lug your way out of it. This is killing your ET for the whole track.
