Imola’s times that day must have been a fluke too then? Like I said you ran better times at a better track. There are variables all over the place which makes it had to compare. I have a feeling we are going to see a lot of B8 S4’s with headers hitting the track this year. A lot of people have headers now, and when I make my way up to the track I will take multiple friends that have headers on their B8/B8.5’s.
Paper, really? The fluke is a 120 trap one time and then multiple 113/4s on the same day… There were no other s4s to compare with… imolas car ran multiple 11.8/9 passes and I ran slightly better but close enough to say even… Yet he was 200 300 lighter and had no cats unlike me… If you can’t see our results showing more than I think I’ll just quit addressing you on this as you are biased… I know you think I hate ec for some reason but that’s really not the case… Just like to deal in real results not vendor ones that are used for sales…
I honestly don’t think the headers do anything more than the Testpipes. I had big gains 100-130 with the Testpipes and on my most recent logs I’m making a lot of power from the Testpipes.
Testpipes- $450 shipped
Headers- $2800 shipped
Performance difference in minimal if any difference at all.
Nothing huge to add, but I think headers haven’t been given a fair run yet except Imola’s car, which, to me, has way too much going on with it to be anything representative of the rest of us.
I think Richi’s car is very fucking fast, he just hasn’t gone to the track enough to show it (read this however you like). His first 1/8th was shit, his last 1/8 is solid, he gained FUCKING 27 mph. Show me another car that has come even close to 27 mph on the big 1/8. any car. And he was on fucking 93 octane. Seriously, look at every else’s big 1/8s and the only other one you’ll see is Eurocode at 27 mph.

here are the three pulls from that day, every pull just gained more power. not sure what would have happened on a 4th pull
Exactly, people jump to conclusions without looking at all the data or by looking at a single instance at 1 track event. Either wait till you have a big enough pool of data to draw a proper conclusion, or dont talk shit when multiple people post multiple dynos, some quarter mile times, and some side by side pull videos.
he picked up 26.5 MPH, not 27. Normal would be 24-25. Why is 26.5 so groundbreaking that it requires profanity and capital letters?
gaining 26.5 MPH would be impressive if the 1/8th trap speed was 90-91 like most of the B8 guys with those mods. Instead it was 88 MPH, which only 1MPH more than the fastest stock car trapped in the 1/8th. So MPH gained isn’t impressive at all as it points to an artificially low 660 trap.
ironically the day we went to Cayuga in the fall, Mistro’s RS4 with no tune and stock exhaust with slight modifications to it gained over 25 mph, and ran the same time as Richib86. Further, the white E92 M3 that was with us added 26.5 MPH to his 1/8th trap speeds a couple of different times. He was also on pump gas. No FUCKING necessary.
your theory might hold water if it was ‘1 track event’…but it has already been half a dozen track visits.
Eurocode has been a few different times, all with pretty mediocre to terrible results.
Richi has been once, and has done the PBOX a couple of other times. All of his results point to the results the 034 HFC guys get. No more.
Imola Monster went with primetime with APR tune/pulley/LW wheels/seats pulled out and still ran same trap speeds as primetime (within 1 MPH). they both had race gas, both drive DSG and both made no mistakes…while primetime had his seats in.
So this whole ‘1 track visit’ is a bit of a joke. There are about 30 dragstrip passes made by 3 cars over 6 different dragstrip visits with headers.
In other words a $1200 engine pull + $2800 headers = $4,000 for test pipe/034 HFC type performance !!! Who the fuck in their right mind is arguing for headers?
You guys need to try harder to convince everyone that you’re good headers salesmen. So far you’re failing, and I am NOT giving you any Glengarry leads.
