brake pads

Maybe mine aren’t bedded in properly then. I’ll give it another shot. Some initial bite would have been useful for the rabbit that ran out in front of my car last night…

Was looking at Hawk HPS or Akebono Euro for my upcoming brake job.

However, I would be on stock rotors, as I can’t justify shelling out the cash right now for JHM LW ones. Does that change anything discussed so far?

Also, http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/485464-AR-B6-7-S4-one-set-special-in-stock-READY-TO-SHIP! just popped up on AZ, and was interested in what you guys thought of Adam’s Rotors? Seems like its basically stock rotors that have been modified? Purely for aesthetics, I like the drilled, and figure it reduces SOME rotational weight. Would it be a good “in-between” mod for OEM and JHM? Or does the modification of OEM rotors just make them less structurally integral?

how much are stock rotors vs. JHM rotors for the S4?

I know the RS4 JHM product is just abotu the same price as the stockers, but that’s because the stockers are Brembos.

I debated the rotor thing hard since you’re paying a bunch more than stock for a part you’ll wear out in 3 years, but it was worth it. Dropping that 20 lbs of front rotor weight was awesome.

Are you talking about LW rotors on your S4 or RS4?

S4. I’m pretending to be an S4 owner, harkening back to the good old days.

RS4 LW rotors only shave like 8 lbs from the front TOTAL. JHM S4 rotors shave 10lbs PER ROTOR.

Oops. B6 S4. Stock units are 70-80$ per corner front, 55$ per corner rear. JHM units are $1100 for the set of 4. Slightly less comparable than RS4 pricing, I’m afraid.

I’ve no doubt that dropping rotational mass is good, but 1100 vs 450ish for adams vs 300ish for OEM is kind of hard to justify.

I would just do the fronts personally. The savings in the rear is negligible. The fronts are 10lbs per corner.

Definitely worth having a look. $160 OEM front pair vs. 615 for JHM LW. That’s $455.

Yeah skip the rears, those are for the nutcases like 91gl lol
