Chasing an oil leak

Sidenote: Misfires are also noticable at idle. They do seem to be random.
Also at WOT, only way to notice misfires are blinking CEL, car doesnt stutter or anything really.

Before finding out how to check fuel pressures, went ahead and ordered 10 Bremi coilpacks.
Also need to recheck for vacuum leaks.

Checking for vac leaks and making sure the car is not pulling in any unmeatered air is a good step.

If your fuel filter was dirty there is a very strong chance that your injectors are damaged due to it. Even if you had a good fuel filter the injectors on these cars need to be cleaned and serviced. It is the number one cause of hard to find missifres.

Your car has two ECUs but I know the values for the standard one ecu car is
103 - 106 - 140

Thanks again for the reply!

Watched closely fuel trims while spaying starter fluid, nothing. Removed oilcap just a bit and could see change right away so most likely no vacuum leaks.

After filter change and running unicornpiss aka redline’s injector cleaner once, car does seem to be a bit better.

But after coils, I’m going to change injectors. Found deal on Hitatchi injectors for 67€ each which is roughly 75$.
As far as I know, OEM are made by Hitatchi. These do not have Audi stamps.

Should I send those to be tested before install? I remember seeing one thread about non-genuine-injector having bad spray pattern. But those could have been 40$ chinese ones.

After those, my 8 months ownership has included: 3 oil changes, 3 major oil leaks fixed (oil cooler, oil filter housing and oil drain plug), new intake manifold (M), Petrol heater, coils, sparkplugs, injectors and carbon clean.
Phew.

Managed to source 10 brand new OEM VS injectors for 870€ which is about 850USD. God lucky on Ebay.
I will update his thread as I get my coils installed and injectors.

That’s damn cheap! If that’s oem congrats. Hope it’s up and running soon!

Injectors coming within a week.

Can someone help me a bit and check pressure when car is running with VCDS group 140 from Engine?
Also check if it will drop when you turn the car off. It shouldn’t.
I get at idle roughly 30bar which sounds ok and it does climp over 70 when give it a bit gas.

But I think I’ve somewhat narrowed the issue. When I turn car off, pressure start immediatly to drop.
So I’m quite sure that my problem is leaking injector. Checked fuel lines etc for leaks, couldnt see any.

I do smell a bit unburned fuel inside car when I start the car.

Its worth the money you saved to send them out to be tested.

Aftermarket injectors can be as much of a gamble as not getting injectors at all. the flow rates have shown to be all over the place with non Audi stamped hitichi injectors. I would strongly suggest you send them out to get flowed and tested.

I managed to find Geniune VW ones for 90USD each, hopefully will arrive before weekend so then I have time to change them.

Tried to smell for leaking fuel at intake manifold when car is running, I did smell it a bit but no as much as I thought I would so might be leaking into cylinder. But I’ll be wised after new ones are installed.

Do I need puller for injector or do they usually come out by hand? I was watching other thread and atleast that guy used a tool.

UPDATE: Changed coils, injectors and did carbon clean. (I had car at indyshop for intake replacement and I paid for carbon clean but its obvious they did not do it >:( )
Fuel rail pressure does not drop any more (engine ii, mes block 150) when i turn car off and it idles like a swiss clock.
Pulls very strong and no error codes any more!

Tips: You do not need to unplug 4 intake plugs, just undo 2 bolts from connector bracket at manifold. Mirror helps alot. Those two sensors each side at manifold are easy to leave plugged, just undo two bolts holding them and remove.
Also I managed to turn engine for carbon clean at altenaror with 24mm socket without removing radiator etc.
I removed bumber and one crosslink which was held by 2 bolts at passanger side near the altenator.
You just need slim ratchet and somewhat slim socket.

NOTE, You NEED to remove flap motor plugs from intake
