you got me there, but if you’re going to a track id throw a small lift in ur trunk anyway. i always have one around
I basically want to retire it to DD mode, but I don’t trust the electronics of the coilover systems out there…they also cost a pretty penny (close to JRZ prices).
GMG quoted me $4500 for the RS Pro’s, so it would be $3.5K out of pocket.
I am leaning towards JRZ as the remote canister operates compression, and that can be mounted in the hood and in the trunk for easy clickage. The rebound would be on the bottom, but I doubt I will fuss with that very much after I get a good baseline.
Around town, open hood and trunk, click up a few on compression.
Road trip? Click down.
Jrz was too much. Ordered some bilstein pss10’s.
I am too busy to install, and my lift is taken by my fj project. What is a reasonable hour quote for coilovers and alignment?
I did my ohlins it in about 3.5 hours with a buddy helping the last 1.5. So 5 man hours for a shop?
I moved shit around last night to free up the lift, gonna install friday.
Worst part was I needed to buy new top hats. Stasis required you to remove the rubber spring seat underneath the cast top hat, but that was pressed into the top hat (which I had to “cut” out).
At least I can sell the top hats with the coilovers…avoiding the hassle with the new buyer.

P.S. My other project, 1976 FJ40 restoration (Diesel conversion, aluminum body, FJ60 5 speed, air lockers, fun times)

Nice garage…looks like you actually do work in it…
There’s no way I would have a shop install if I had a lift…honestly do you think they put the care into it like you do yourself? Good choice
I’m so busy with work, I just didn’t want to tell the wife (holding a screaming baby) that I was going to take all day in the garage after coming back from a back to back business trips.
I was gonna just take it to Cantrell Motorsports and be done with it, they built my 964 race car this year, so I trust them. I honestly wanted to make sure he wasn’t under charging me! (quoted 3 hours of labor, which I thought was too low)
love the FJ build. i have a soft spot for crawlers and 4x4’s

I tore it all down and galvanized the frame, then double dipped it with a powder coat to top it. Frame should last 100 years. lol

So I was feeling stressed out with work, so I knocked off early and installed them this late afternoon.
Big improvement in comfort, not as sporty, but that was to be expected. Glad I made the switch, should be more wife approved.

What setting did you set it to? I just adjusted mine yesterday to 6-6. I may go 7F and 4R. These coil overs have transformed the ride and steering feel. There was minimal feel on the stock setup. Post up a picture.

So far loving the adjustability.
I am at 4 all around, but I think I will go stiffer up front with the extra weight.
Car looks incredible!
Great look. Usually don’t like black rims w/ silver, but it works awesome with your car

yeah looks at mean
isn’t it a replica of yours, but just a b8 facelift? Same wheels even
Saki, i don’t think that is quartz? Also, my wheels are ti colored, I have black brembos, and stock ride height…
Started to put the springs and shackles on the rear axles, then I had to cook dinner. Doing things solo takes forever! Thank god for tie downs.
Took the rsa out to the ridge today. Racing is a good stress release.

Assembled the transmission and clutch, mounted it the frame.
It doesn’t look line much, but I had to research and procure adapters to go from cummins flywheel --> SAE 4 to chevy flywheel adapter --> Chevy flywheel/clutch/pressure plate/throw out & pilot bearing–> advanced adapters bell housing adapter–> Toyota H55f transmission
Basically a transmission sandwich.
I’m going to be throwing on my V3’s soon, anyone want to reccomend setting for something similar to the dynamic setting in ADS?
