Couple of interesting RS4s on ebay

First one…nice gaps lol. Swesna will love that. Man that front end is fucked up looking. Looks like the damn hood is open!

Second one is a Misano Red with the audi exclusive interior. I remember seeing this one for sale (I think I do) a while back. The red stitching on the steering wheel is what is reminding me of it. The whole front end is off in the pics. That’s what the Avus one above looked like before it was patched together for auction. By a blind person.

Only has 19 thousand miles…but someone cracked it up pretty good unfortunately.

The Avus has all sorts of issues.

The Misano even has non matching tires lol.

WOW! That red one looks like hell.

The Avus… is that droop from front end damage or is that just need some loose screws tightened and a lift back into place?

That looks bad. Sad to see cars not cared for.

On the Avus - more than likely someone pulled the front bumper and when reinstalling it failed to get the bumper cover slots properly lined up with and slid into the adjustment bolt assembly. I’ll dig up a link to installing a B7 bumper later or tomorrow - one in particular has a good close up of the parts I’m referencing. I actually have my own pics I could post as well. They’re on a different pc so it’s a pita for me right now.

yes, i thought the same thing about the avus. i mean how can the person driving that not realize that was off.

this is the most common issue with the RS4 front ends and annoys me like crazy.

one thing about that Imola I was looking at was the front end was perfect a sign that it was either not taken apart before or someone actually knew what they were doing when they put it back together.

i have seen numerous RS4s that were done by body shops that had the front end bumper/hood and bumper/headlights all a mess. not sure why most shops just dont get it.

at this point i have seen 4 other RS4 to date over the past 3 months that have had issues with either headlights or the hood not aligned properly. i have yet to see one in person that is correct.

but like i said the Imola with 104K miles…the body lines were perfect.

i am very OCD and mine looks better than the 4 others i have seen and still not even perfect. i am going to give it another shot this fall when the weather is cooler out. But my e-codes look very nice and even with the slight alignment issues I still have, I am still happy with how it looks…but still will try for perfection.

the red one they were willing to sell to me for 22K but at that price it is still too much of a risk and they have had it now for about 4 months. that place is pretty close to me.

I think it was hit (the Avus silver car)

You can see that not only is the bumper cover low, the hood and drivers side fender line look funky

I would jump all over the red one if I had that kind of cash right now. It looks like it got hit high missing the frame rails. Besides for welding in a new LT upper rail and maybe apron you’re just looking at (expensive) bolt on parts. I would never buy it sight unseen but for the right person this could be a huge score.

super low mileage.

I would imagine at $18,000 or so it would be an interesting part out. You could probably part the car out and end up with the motor for around $3,000.

Hmm… a 4.2L motor sitting in my garage to play with while still having my RS4 whole… now THAT would be a nice scenario.

Anybody else notice on the Misano that the pic of the dash was taken with the engine running? It showed 800rpm-ish. Would you buy a car from a place that ran the engine without a radiator? You could argue that maybe it had a radiator at that point, but all of the other pics are without it. They really took one pic before removing it? No . . .

Good eye, sir, good eye. I hadn’t picked up on that.

saki…this place is somewhat close to me…when they first put the car up i originally offered 18K and they refused. i was even a dumb ass and went up to 22K which they refused and then later came back to me saying they would take it. i told them you missed your chance at that offer and that it was too risky at that price. 18K does seem about right but only if engine/trans are OK.

nice catch on the radiator squiddy

I don[t imagine that idling the car (that’s idle RPM) for a minute to prove the engine runs is that much of a concern. Take note of the oil temp…it wasn’t running long at all because oil temp is still below 59 celsius (the RS4 shows max 7000/rpm on cold start and has a lowered redline before it’s warmed up. It needs to be sitting ice cold for a while (hours) in order to get that below that threshold, so it was literally just started up.

Here’s the pic you referred to, followed by one of my car yesterday, which shows the oil temperature when the car is warmed up

On a side note that was the best tank I ever got out of my RS4. Over 340 miles on one tank and I still had another 10-15 miles showing on the computer. Averaged 22.7 for the tank according to DIS…but if we do the calculation of miles vs. gallons used, it was 22.49 MPG so not that far off the DIS. My S4 was always about 10% optimistic.

Hmmm, red stitching on the steering wheel looks custom?

With the talk that an RS4 engine goes for ~$20k, if you could pick this car up for <$18k I would imagine you could part out and make some money. Have to be very patient though.

The red stitching is part of the platinum package or whatever they call it. I have the same in mine. ;D

edit sorry, Audi exclusive package. Forgive my foggy memory, had to check the badge to remember. :-X
