Gotcha. Keep it then and start thinking positive lol
I do love driving it. I look for any kind of excuse to drive it. The engine is silky smooth now the cam and lifters were replaced. I installed a magnetic drain plug so we’ll see if I pick up any of the metal from the damaged cam and lifters.
My thing is, once I get all of this work done, it will be more dependable than it was before. If I were to sell it as is, Id be losing out, and if I were to pick something else up, whos to say it would/wouldnt have the same problems. Most other cars out there that are in my price range are pretty boring as well.
Well she’s at it again. The check engine light came on yesterday. P0021. And today the sun visor broke. I can’t wait and see what happens by the end of the week.
I’m going to take a guess thats a camshaft sensor? Did you replace any sensors when you did your exhaust camshaft? and did you do the timing belt too? Maybe there was a install error, or could just be a bad sensor.
I had the car scanned at Autozone and this is what P0021 showed.
“A” camshaft posistion-timing over advance or… (thats what it shows on the autozone slip)
system performance bank 2.
Explanation: Open or short circuit condition.
Probable Cause:
- Poor electrical connection
- Failed Cam Shaft actuator-resistance 10-20 ohms
- Blocked oil passage.
What electrical connection should I check? My Bentley Manual on CD isn’t working right now. The car was leaking oil after I had the timing belt replaced. It was leaking at the twin cam gasket. That was fixed so I’m sure whatever electrical connection around there could be loose. The CEL came on 5 days after I got the car back from the oil leak fixed which was immediately after the timing belt service. The car is driving fine and no misses but the CEL stays on. I would like to clear it and see if it comes back before I throw parts at the car.
I usualy don’t curse the car for things that go bad.
I rub the dash and say nice baby please be nice today and tell her she’s great.
Its like praying to her.
Her=The car.
While most non-car people would think you are an idiot. I can totally relate to this.
My spare car at the moment requires a couple of parts, of which I would rather spend the money with JHM to get my 3.0 back up and running
I too do this, I was actually going to say something to that effect but couldn’t find the right words.
There are scientific studies that have been done that our human emotions can change water molecules. I know our car is metal but our bodies are energy and put out energies and I firmly believe that positive=postive, negative can only bring bad things. I do get mad at her sometimes but I apologize and give her a little rub a tell her everythings going to be okay.
