I could never have alcantara seats

  1. looks dirty
  2. those little knots/balls make it look haggard
  3. most importantly, you can’t slide in and out of the seat (and when you’re 6’5" that’s key). It grabs you and you get stuck. On the way in, your shirt gets pulled out the back of your pants

Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Yeah alcantara sucks. Looks good but other than that it’s terrible.

I did a poll on AZ a while ago asking what guys liked. i.e.

I have leather and love it
I have alcantara and love it
I have leather and would like to trade for alcantara
I have alcantara and would like to trade for leather

It was pretty interesting…not far from even split as far as I can remember.

Loved my alcantera seats, the two tone really makes the interior look better IMO. I always sat on a towel though, and with 47k miles mine didn’t look like that.

my work is sometimes dirty… i TRY to sit on a towel but its not always there. :frowning:

I assume you used compound and polish? Looks like that paint really needed the correction. What products did you use just out of curriosity

the polish work is the part i had done.

the only product i know was used is opti-coat at the end.

opti coat is like a second clear coat. Its basically a paint sealer but permanant.

Only reason i didnt go to Wes was distance. he is almost 1 hour drive further.

yeah, I hear he has a shop now that is in Scarborough or something? Sucks …wish he was west.

Kevin is just off Dixon west of PIA.

He is also works on weekends so you can drop off friday and pick up saturday evening or sunday morning. Worked out great for me that was as well.

Thats why i went to Earl’s on friday :slight_smile:

i get directly off the 401 to go to GTA.

Wes is in Scarborough so another 15 min of highway with NO traffic. Then its another 15 - 25 min of city driving to get to his place. Best case 90 min.

to get to GTA its 55 min.

Went to square 1 in sauga for Earl’s. waitresses were WAY more sexy! ;D That being said it was friday prime time and not saturday night so they probly had their A lteam out there shaking it!

It looks almost like new now. All i used was a mr clean magic eraser and a MF cloth

but for 47k miles that you owned it, the seat looked terrible because there was a towel on it. You were basically saving it for the next guy…kinda like how old Italian and Portuguese ladies have covers on the sofa in the room you’re not allowed to go in. :smiley:
