Evap error codes-what do they mean, where to look?

All is well. Popped the new valve in last night. No codes on the way to work.

Will replace the short L-shaped hose to the manifold next week as that looked a little crusty.

Thanks to everyone here for helping me solve another problem.

one more down… .thanks for the update glad to hear it all worked out. If at all possible maybe post the part number and some pictures of what all you went through to help others with this issue in the future.

There is the link for adding pix to the site.

Here’s the pic of the valve.

You can see the screw clamp I am going to replace as well as the hose to which it is attached.
Part numbers are:
07L1333394B–hose
N90686701–clamp
06E906517A–valve
Hope this helps!

Also, you can just buy the Bosch valve (~$13), since they are the OEM supplier for this part. No need to buy the Audi branded part at more than twice the price.

Had a P2404 code pop up today…another EVAP related error. Ross-Tech website says this as possible problems:

Faulty Leak Detection Pump (V144)
Voltage supply problems to Leak Detection Pump (V144)
Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister System leaking pressure
Faulty (N80) Evap purge solenoid

I cleared it. We’ll see what happens.

That’s usually the best way to go. I"ve noticed that on older cars when its warm and then really cold out the EVAP system can get stuck. The system seems like it can get some condensation in it and that can stick the valves. Usually a few days and it clears up. That’s not to say there can’t be an issue but its good to clear codes and monitor it.
