Interesting stuff. What do you guys think about exhaust size for a turbo car? On another note I had Magnaflows on my car… Didnt think they were too bad, after reading this those hookers look interesting. I like the fact that they are quiet on idle and not too bad at 2k RPM. Giving you the ability to not stand out to much if needed. The fact that they hit 120 db at WOT is even more appealling.

I found 2 1/2" inlet/outlet Hooker Maxflow mufflers for $70… the only problem is that they are not stainless.
I wonder how these would sound instead of sebring mufflers on the FI exhaust… My bet is pretty mean

I listened to jaybquick;s piggies and then 2.5 DP videos with the FI catback 100 times before getting my fast intentions exhaust. I loved the sound. It was ripsnorting mean.
The opening exhaust rip in the JHM vs NGNG video (right at at the beginning when they show ‘boost vs. NA’ ) is the greatest sound ever. That was JHM B6 S4 to JHM headers to catless downpipes to Fast Intentions 2.5" Xpipe resonated catback
ya that’s a good vid Saki… I have Piggies with the Non Res FI and it is currently not loud/mean enough for my tastes. I know I can gut the main cats and see if that helps, but than I have to play the Downpipe swapping game when emissions come around. I would rather just put on new mufflers that are louder & flow better than the Sebring.
However, I will probably spend the money on my JHM tune this Spring ;D

This is DuncanC’s S4 with JHM headers and full catless 2.5" non-res FI exhaust. This thing is loud and aggressive to say the least!
was that headers? or 2.5 catless millteks (that were sold to maddog, and then installed on BoraVR6’s also Imola B7 lol)?

I wouldn’t bother chasing gains with your mufflers. Don’t forget this car in this thread that is building the exhaust is going to be forcing some 600+ wheel horsepower at the mufflers. It’s going to be paramount to his success to ensure everything is capable of handling the flow.
You’re not going to have the same needs as a 600 whp car…as your car is making about 600 CFM Your Sebrings will be just fine.
I wasn’t trying to get power out of the mufflers, that will come from the JHM tune… I just wanted it to be Louder/more fierce!
- I am in the process of trying to track down a 2nd set of downpipes… One will only have pre-cats deleted (currently on my car) and the second set will be fully catless
I wouldn’t bother really. To go from piggies to catless is a nominal change at best. If you were to go to 2.5" catless downpipes with NO NECKDOWN that would be pretty cool…but then you’d need to hack off the neckdown on your FI exhaust.
piggies to necked-down fast intentions 2.5" catback is a solid setup. That’s what I ran 13.2 @ 107 with in my B7 S4 in Fall 2010.
did you ever run JHM’s intake mani? That has been a mod I have been thinking about for a while with the JHM tune
nah, I never did. Very cool mod though.
I foolishly turned down the opportunity to be one of the first guys to get it (my car was still stock…and I wanted to get tune/piggies/catback first before going with other levels of moficiations).
It’s supposed to help with the top end but the supercharger tune starts killing the throttle just passed 6k rpms so not sure how it’s fully helping me (not saying it isn’t, just don’t really know how).
I can’t speak to how it is on a regular NA as I got mine installed at the same time as the supercharger.

yeah, but ‘top end’ on an NA car is still flowing less air at redline than your car is at 4500 rpm.
