I’d like to get some advice/input on how much more I can expect to squeeze out of this car in it’s current state. Based upon the drag times DA calculator…
I know you can’t hear it, but I’m giving you a hand clap just as I would give it to my 4 year old daughter when she does something great. You said you wanted advice, so here is what I would like to contribute. Your times will get better with practice and I hope you had fun. You only live once, so enjoy your car and your life. Good night!
Let me put it this way… I don’t understand your dick comments towards G. Horrible altitude and a weird borderline condescending post directed to him. End of story, don’t go back to your old ways.
I never made a dick comment towards G. The both of you probably took it the wrong way because the both of you believed his time slip to be unsatisfactory. I, on the other hand felt that he did what he did and he took his car to the track for the first time. That alone to me was something respectable, especially when there are hundreds of Audi owners who never take their cars to the track.
I can never go back to my old ways. I’ve always been who I am, You just think I changed. If anyone has changed, it is you. Ivliie you better this way.
Fair enough, maybe the correlation between an adult and your four year old daughter is why the direction of your post is questioned. I don’t have children so maybe I’m completely off base.
Not terrible by any means. 60ft is a little rough, what rpm were you launching at? I ran 14.3 I think at close to 8500 DA here in Colorado had to hold revs around 4200 for the launch and that got me a 1.9 60ft. I had a full cat less exhaust and an intake Mani with the Jhm tune
Yeah launching needs to happen from a higher rpm out in the clouds. Great point dwith
We have a couple of times from other cars at elevation in the list.
G rat you can try looking at sear as well who went 14.something with a pes supercharged car at elevation. As a benchmark those usually run high 12s @ 110ish on b6/7 s4 at sea level
I was using the launch assist with the tune, so launching around 5300 RPM. Didn’t get a chance to try any other RPM points but I’m planning to go back soon.
Will try 4200 as was mentioned, and the torque peak that I mentioned in my dyno thread. Really want to get below a 2.0 60 ft.
Isn’t there some general rule like a hundredth in the 60 ft gets you a tenth in the 1/4 mile?
Haha, I am gonna make fun of you here…because that would be fucking awesome if a hundredth got you a tenth in ET!
It’s a pretty good rule of thumb with our AWD Audi’s that the ratio is 1:1, so a tenth in your 60’ will be about a tenth off your ET. Sakimano has disussed this a lot…it especially comes up when guys try and say that if they ran 11.3, but had a 1.7 60 instead of a 1.8…that they would go 10s.
Its engages at 5300, and actually launches at like 3200-3400. It is optimal for cars at sea level but at elevation you will bog badly so you need more RPMs. Just drop the clutch from 4000 or so and try from there, adjusting by 200 RPMs each time
As for the one tenth equals xxx go check my thread in the dragstrip and quartermile main scussion discussion forum at the top of the mainboard
Hey G-Rat let me know if you’re going to hit up the rocky mtn raceways again or want to do some pulls. I have a little break before MBA courses begin so I am curious to see what my car can actually do (with me driving)
