from that perspective i guess i agree somewhat. i hate to go here, but you could say the same thing about the JHM charger. the modifications to the stock RS to install this equipment would "ruin the car) to some (and would seem by your definitions your included in that some) a JHM charger would ruin the great looks from the factory. after all you lose a set of lights. your frame is also “hacked” as you put it. you could not go back to stock with out welding a piece back in the frame, although you could get your lights back.

I saw the bag setup at H20 and the only modification was one screw hole in the wheel well area to ground the compressors.

do I think that what FT did, or installing Stasis MS, or installing a JHM charger, or painting headlights black inside or shaving fendors off is ruining the RS4 no… but would seem like based on this thread all of these activities would ruin the RS by your definition.

Let’s hear your thoughts then on the following:

1. air bag suspension vs. the stasis (bankrupt) suspension you all (the moron crew) used to rave about so often

i have never ridden on air bags, other than in stock cars like merc or land rover. i really like my stasis setup and would not spend the kind of cash it takes to get an air setup even if i was in love with the tuck, which i am not

2. poorly pulled fenders leaving panels not lining up

not sure if i read the same thread as you, but 3-4 other members posted that their fenders exhibited the same “issues” and they had never pulled their fenders. so every RS with pulled fenders is ruined?

3. the worst wheels yet on his RS4 (that’s saying something)

your opinion. i really like the 5 spoke ADV design. color and size… ehhh on color (looks cool…) and i would not have gone 20. i would not get too hot and bothered by these as you do all his wheels, because new ones will be on soon. sponsorship…

and last but not least…

4. a supercharger kit that has blown up the engine, requiring replacement, on 2/3 of the other cars we know that have had it installed. It runs 16+PSI of boost in dense conditions, and FT’s car now has the optional APR smokescreen package with his car. He’s on his way to ‘kissing’ his rings goodbye. And his motor.

cant comment here as my internet investigation skills are not on your level so i don’t know about the blown motors and motor replacements that were caused by the 1740 that you speak of. if it is true APR has a problem and im sure they know it and are working to remedy it.

So yeah, ruined. pretty much! at least you have one of your own so you can keep yours in the condition you choose and put or not put the wheels you like and the charger of your choice that is best for your motor, etc.

I think he was using that a an example from above when to made comment about the cuts made to the firewall. I’m not a fan of the aired out look, I see purpose in bags to an extent. What his intention was, no one here really knows. Maybe he just wanted to change up the car and try something different. What other way to show you have bags then to air it out. I actually like the look of the wheels. It different, again his car. Idk when everyone started caring so much about what others do to their cars?

IDK, i always cringe when i see a performance based car stanced with stretched out tired and aired out. My buddy has a R with bags but they are competition bags with 18 inch non stretched enkei wheels and it looks bad ass. Handles like a motherfucker too. Maybe he doesn’t realize that it’s one of the most respected brands in the racing scene as well as used on many supercars for great street/track ability. I can’t wait for zmon to explain how the JHM supercharger ruins the great looks of the RS4. You can’t even see the fucking thing. JHM needs to put a big arrow there so members of the retard crew know where to look when watching videos of JHM RS4s breaking records.

I also love how of the 4 points I made, zmon agreed with all of them other than the point about the APR supercharger kit, which he is pretending to not know about in order to protect APR lol.

Meem’s motor blew months ago, and everyone on the forums and the offline instant messenger groups knows it. Zmon pretending he doesn’t is comical. Last week here on this site (first here, as it usually happens) news came out that the 1 APR test car, borrowed from a dealer in Illinois, and featured in APR’s video for the kit, ALSO blew the motor and is sitting at APR headquarters. Hasn;t moved in months. I guess Mangrove, APR’s new owner, is busy deciding whether they can afford a replacement motor for it, or whether they want to pay the light bill.

If APR do try to buy a new motor for it (and flyin rotten apple when the inevitable happens), it will be interesting to see the discussion with Audi when APR says ‘we need a couple of BNS engines…just put it on our unpaid $160,000+interest tab’

I doubt ohlins did actual testing as I believe they just sold the dampeners to stasis who then reassembled, also if ohlins actually did produce and test the stasis setup, I’m sure they would have chose a dampener not designed around rally cross, and gone with what is used in the PSi/034 setup.

I have only had my S4 for three months now and just bought some spacers. 10mm for the front and 20mm for the rear. On stock wheels. Even with that I was worried about it looking kind of stupid…but I think it will look nice and flush, yet not over done…still keep it a sleeper. Now…holy fuck! That teal blue…powder blue RS4. God what a waste of paint!

im all for improving stance. I have the H&R springs B5 perches and 10mm spacers just sitting in my garage waiting to go on, these will improve stance and slightly improve performance. what I don’t get is the whole extreme camber bullshit. seriously, its unsafe, hinders performance, looks stupid, and makes u burn through tires.

As I already stated. If you’ve ever been on a track with DRC and then with the Ohlins setup there would be no question. Ohlins does have the TTX line which is 50% mroe than the cost of Motorsports so of course it won’t be as good as those. But still better than most of the other options on the market for the RS4.

second off, what the fuck are you talking about the stasis (bankrupt) suspension for? Flying tomatoes thought it was sooooo great, he pulled it off, threw it in the garbage after 18 months, and went with air bags. That’s what is ironic.

Ask the guys who have 15,000 miles on theres and need a $2000 rebuild and 2 weeks of downtime how great it is.

I don’t give a shit if it’s great on a track. If it only works for a short period of time then needs rebuilding, that’s SHIT on a daily driver (and if you bought a 4 door 4 seater RS4 just for the track, all the power to you…but 99% of RS4 owners tend to want to drive them, not put them on jacks for 2 weeks while their suspension is rebuilt. last time I checked, you were putting your RS4 out to pasture with respect to track duties and you bought yourself an E36 M3. Tell me more about that lol).

Another example, the APR supercharger is great at making your car accelerate…but if you blow your motor within a month as the APR test car and MEEM’s car did, what the fuck good is it? 2 out of 3 dead motors is a pretty shitty run rate.
