Got Torque?

I have a feeling he might be the one flying out of the car or breaking instead of just parts lol

It’s amazing what happens when you go big power. It shows you where the weaknesses in the car are.

I had a conversation about the GT built motor B5 S4s with Jason from JHM last winter. It was interesting because he was saying that the power just rattles the cars to pieces.

Going stage III+ B5 isn’t that big a deal cost wise anymore (around $15,000 for the kit + build) but there’s another $5000 you could/should/will spend on solidifying the rest of the car. All these little things like above. Pretty interesting. Of course just about nobody in B5 land does this, so those guys like D SHOT or EVILEVO end up shying away from launching their cars or doing pulls as a result. They love the dyno though…

see the funny thing is you don’t even need big power, drive the car hard and you’ll break shit

<----- speaking from experience

Yeah but didn’t yourt car have nitrous and a 2.1 litre blower on it at one point?

no the green one had the fun stuff, mine was the trans tune car

Were you trying to get the wheels off the ground?? lol

I’ll never stop trying to do that!

I’m sure if I put some big ol slicks on the back and had them grip down, I could lift the front end up lol

Damn D you really know how to put a car through its tests. Thats how you get stuff done. I suppose we should start a list of the parts you put to bed so we can start making stronger ones.

Oh and I updated your name. Thats the one thing I asked to be added to the site.

Breaking parts, records and hearts lol

Very appropriate name

Yeah M3 Owners

LOL ^ That’s awesome.

we’ve all heard the saying that there’s not enough power till it spins the tires going into top gear

well, I think the true measure of torque is ‘there’s not enough torque till you launch it, the front end comes off the ground, and the body twists so much that the driver’s door pops open’

Definition of power and torque from the rally scene …

FWD - You hit the tree with the front of the car
2WD - You hit the tree with the back of the car
4WD - You hit the tree with the side of the car

Power is how hard you hit the tree
Torque is how far you drag it!

And for the turbo diesel guys, you know you have enough power not when you throw a rod, but when you throw a block.

awesome! thanks count! your the man, really made me smile seeing that.

now can i please has launch control? lol

yes. Race scott and whooop his ass and Ill send it out. JK. Ill send it regardless. get me your 032 block information and send that in a E mail and it will go out by the end of the week.

91- saw you asking about a 3" exhaust…and you were mentioning that your car felt 'bottled up.

How about logging 3rd RPMs, then pulling the dps/catback off, then logging 3rd again? Would show if your 2.5 is ‘hurting’ you (although I think we all know that it is to a certain degree). Would be interesting and would give you some time to work on some new swear-words while doing the hardware removal/install

dont worry, scotts cruisin for a bruisin, he keeps stalling the race lok

ill get you 032 block info and email it to you tonight. love ya, no homo.

my swear vocabulary is VAAAAST and you all know that lol.

i have my cat-removal and install. down to a science, i can have the hole thing apart is a matter of minutes, no swears really needed here. im going to do some logs for sure tonight and ill start buying pieces to get my 3" cat back made. ill do back to back comparative logs between the two systems and update you all.

in terms of me saying it feels bottled up, the reason why i say that is because for some reason, 80% of gasses come out my left muffler unless i stick an objuect there and direct it to the other, very odd. when i have my buddy drive the car and im behind it, you can even make out most of the noise is coming from that pipe and it sounds so awkward.

that’s really weird

visual inspection revealed nothing?
