Hello NEW S5 guy

Im sure one of many.

I was told about this site from a friend. Im not super good with computers. Im semi handy with cars. I try to do most of my work myself.

I love my S5 but I feel there has to be much more performance available then what we have now. Other then the style of the car and the new updates. I feel power wise I should have just gotten a B7 S4. Two more doors and the same power level With in 8~

My thoughts as of today performance wise. The ball has been dropped. Most chips suck and it looks like any exhaust offering is nothing but a rez back style that has little to no bennifit.

Well at least you’re smart enough to know the truth about the current offerings out there. I’m afraid way too many people are buying into tuner’s claims and inflated dyno sheets. Give it time, the B6/7 took about ~5yrs to even get started with real performance options, prior to that it was almost the bastard child of Audi considering the “S” badge and competition at the time, espeically with the success of performance in the B5 world. But fact of the matter is, Audi’s have always been forced induction, and that made tuning easy. None of the tuners that ruled the B5 world knew how to get real power out of a N/A motor (which kinda tells ya something about how good of tuners they really were. . . ). Some tuners expanded into the 4.2, most have gone, but many still left scars of their quick scams to make money off the new market with products that made big claims but didn’t help performance at all, and in some cases, hurt performance.

Honestly, I think the S5 is one of the best looking Audi’s out there and wouldn’t question the choice for a second. The S5 wasn’t really out yet (or in my price range) at the time I got my B7, and while I love my B7, the S5 is just stunning to look at imo. I think in the next year or so they’ll be some decent performance options that will begin to open the S5 up some. Just a good freeflowing exhaust and tune can really transform a N/A car. Add some LW parts, and you’ve got a whole new car.

And now the big question. . . where are the pics??? Lets see the car already!

Thanks I’ve learned to read, Think then decide. I’M excited to get this off the ground. Ill have to wait for the weather to clear. Then I’ll grab some shots of the car.

are you sure you’re a B8 owner? lol…poor B8 guys have a tendency to buy whatever is out there, then ask questions/seek performance proof later. Good to see you’re being discerning. I’ve spoken to a few S5 4.2 owners actually and it’s a shame how many are getting fed up with the crap market for performance parts. This is EXACTLY what happened to the B6 S4 and the B7 RS4. As is usually the case, the patient will be rewarded.

It should be noted that you may get an infraction for not posting pictures of your S5. That’s like…a major fkup. Witholding S5 pics is just plain cruel.

It should be and to be honest I have about 50 or so pictures of my car. Im pickey and just havent found the right lightning to get a nice looking picture. If I can’t get something in the next few weeks… Autumn apon us there should be great opertunitys for a good shot
