NOW, what about downpipes? I have piggies and I think I’m emotionally ready for 2.5", but then again maybe I’m not. Can you guys help with a few questions:
How big of a performance improvement is there over piggies for my system? I have Magnaflow 2.5"CB
How will it effect (a) the sound and (b) the drone? I’ve heard youtube vids, and the sound is VERY appealing. But I have an avant, and the drone at 2K is currently pretty bad
I would like to pass emissions testing (obviously won’t pass the visual) in CA which will prob come soon for me. Will I do so with catted 2.5"?
JHM doesn’t have any FI in stock (4 week lead time!), and I want this done while they have the car (If they even have time, haven’t asked them yet). Which should I get? Here are some for sale on AZ:

Regarding downpipes I think it would give u a little bump in power and a bit more volume.
I have driven axels car and stood outside it. He has trexturk and magnaflow and supercharger and avant and intake manifold ironically.
His car is not crazy loud. Sounds good.
I don’t think magnaflow is perfect to be honest… Their X seems a bit contrived and with a supercharged car scavenging is probably not your biggest concern anyway. Something that flows better may help.
If I was a new b7 s4customer looking for downpipes and catback I would get milltek catless downpipes and fast intentions catback, resonated. If I was budget limited I would get a used Fi.
P. S. I wonder if jhm will experiment with bigger exhaust on their b6 now that it has a built motor. If so ask them to sell you the fast intentions fullback off Jason’s b6

I agree, and wish I’d never seen the “Magnaflow is just as good as FI but cheaper threads”. If I were starting over, I would go FI DP/CB. I tried to save money and am annoyed now, but not enough to scrap my magnaflow.
Where to buy Milltek? Don’t they make catted as well?
Jason has headers, so since I really just want DPs, I’m out of luck. I didn’t ask if he wanted to sell the CB, but since he has a B6, I assume its single tips, so not worth the hassle…
I’m thinking that I’ll just buy some DPs from trexturk and have my local guy install them. Anyone have good/bad experiences with them?
I crack myself up. Every time my car goes to JHM (and its been there lots of times!) I try to think of all the things it “needs”. This time it’s getting:
Rebuilt Stasis M/S, was planned anyway
Motor and S/C oil change
New tune
Intake mani and spacers, with heat shield, 'cause I totally need that
Cool remote power switch for my radar detector
Stiffer reverse spring for my short shifter, 'cause why not
I love it, but damn, why do I spend so much $ on it?! Next time I’m going stock and calling it a day
The problem with staying stock is you will eventually want ‘more’ so now you need to sell the whole car and get a new stock car with more. That’s more expensive.
