Buddy if you get the right plugs you wont be able to gap them. On our motors we get the quad post plugs with 4 arch posts. So you cant gap them. You can check them with an plug gap tool but the one scott put up wont be able to fit in.
If u look at my first pics, they were only 3 post in mine when I took one out. New ones are also 3 post so now I’m confused!
My bad I see you have high heat plug straps. The two side straps are to pull out heat as thats used on extra hot cars. The top main strap is where your getting most of your electronic charge from.
The closer the gap the less stress on the system but you dont want to go less than 34 and you dont want to go more than 48. most performance gaps are between 38 and 42
So i pulled one from the left side of the engine, low and behold its the same rusty brown colour, however, no oil on the threads on this side which is a good sign that the gasket is ok at least
No oil is a good thing but man you can really see that build up on the plugs.
If you have the oppertunity check the current gap on the plugs that you pull out. It would be interesting to see what they are at and if they are all the same
Yep i forgot to check the gap when i had it out! Ill compare the gap old vs new and see how they compare.
They should be the same but it will be interesting to see how they all play out. That ground heat strap kinda sucks because it stops you from being able to use 4 post plugs. They are a big help in making power due to not needing to degree the plugs for max power. The nice thing is you can adjust the gap if you plan on adding some JHM go fast mods down the line.
