Looks like mick is giving it another shot. As we know, he has JHM launch assist, and thus was able to cut some solid 1.8 60’ times last time he went out, producing a best of 12.43. Now he will be there with about 75-100 lbs less weight in the car and a freer flowing, 2.75" catless exhaust, vs. the stock setup he had last time (piggies + stock catback with ECS hpipe for sound welded in).

That setup should be good for 12.1 or so frankly. We’ve seen a couple of guys with similar modlists go 12.28 and 12.29, but they were full weight, non-riced. Mick’s car is down about 200 lbs over stock.

So…any predictions on what Mick’s $110,000* RS4 will run?

*not including future damages owing for defamation

just look at what all it took for him to beat my time and i have so much less done, just imagine what im goint to do with all my new parts. Oh yea JHM tune cable just arrived so monday/tuesday we will be doing data logging.

here is a quick update for new items on or done to my car.
11 lb per corner loss on rims/tires
75lb weight reduction
JHM tune
Ported intake manifold
JHM crank pulley
(possibly JHM downpipes/exhaust)

but we will see…

would be cool would be if you had bought Micheling Pilot SuperSport tires. Another 15 lbs shaved.

it’s funny…his car is 300 lbs lighter than my car when I went 12.75 @ 108.36

stock my car weighed 3925
subtract 75 lbs of fuel (I had 1/4 tank)
subtract about 20 lbs of junk from the car (spare tire inflation bullshit etc)
add me in at 250 lbs including clothing and helmet
= 4090 lbs

Mick’s car with him in it in dragstrip guise this weekend will weigh 3765 lbs…325 lbs less than me.

Wonder what I could run with 325 lbs taken out of the car. I would think my 12.75 @ 108 would easily be a 12.50 @ 110. He ran with a tune and a bunch of other mods 12.43 @ 111 or something a couple of months ago (stockish exhaust…piggies). Where’s all his time going? His mods aren’t showing up in his timeslips.

With 300 lbs out of the car (lots of it rotating mass, which is FAR more important than shaving a fucking headlight washer 4 lbs of sprung weight) + JHM tune + 2.75" full exhaust, clutch, LWFW, etc. etc. etc…I would be very comfortable saying I could threaten 12.0 @ 114. Heck the delta from full weight stock to full weight JHM+JHM 2.75+clutch/fw (dan@JHM and 2000S4) was around 4-5 MPH and 5-7 tenths. I would estimate that 4 tenths and 5 MPH should certainly be doable for mick vs. what a stock car would likely run - 300 lbs. Wonder if he’ll be able to do that?

This is exciting news, but I will predict that he doesn’t touch Jnaut’s time of 12.26.

Seemingly impossible just a few years ago. Who knows now? I think it will be tough. Whatever the time is, I think its funny that basically the guys who shit talk the rs4 because it is not forced induction all choke when you mention the two different RS4 guys who went 12.2 all motor, pump gas, full weight/full interior. They go dead fucking silent it is hilarious, and a really great way to stop someone dead in their tracks. The discussion always ends abruptly when I point this out especially on the B8 forums lol.

I’d much rather get my unit of performance all motor, from a V8 or V10 frankly. Far more interesting than squeezing a small fi motor to within an inch of its life. Na performance primarily comes from making things more efficient. Fi performance comes from stressing components with more and more boost.

But if he got a running start the rt would be -0.5s since the RT timer doesn’t start in the game until the third amber light goes on and starts counting from -0.5 seconds (Since the time between amber lights and green is 0.5 seconds during a three stage countdown sequence)

EDIT: Yeah, he had a false start… probably sped through the staging beams lol

I was going to make it so it wouldn’t record times during a false start but decided to leave it in since any negative reaction time would indicate a false start anyways.
