Btw - Shouldn’t wind chill count for something? I walk a lot, and it’s certainly more miserable with the wind ripping in your face. It’s funny - I’ve just resolved to wear some of my ski gear in this weather. I don’t care how ridiculous it looks - even in a suit.

That weather station is only at 900ft. The mountain is substantially colder due to the weather in Franconia notch and the extra 3000ft.

I was in Collingwood over the weekend and it only hit -28.6c at 7am.

I’ve done some multi-day backpacking in the white mountains. Mt Washington is I believe one of the most dangerous small mountains in the world. I believe holds the record for surface wind speed. That place is no joke :o

Buddy just got back after spending over a month in the Everest region. Sent me some surreal pictures. Wish I could have gone. The girl they were with got high-altitude pulmonary edema. That part doesn’t sound like fun.

Yeah 231mph gust, the weather there can be like the moon. Its no longer the record holder though. 6148’ of prominence is fair sized, base elevation is just low. Someone died hiking out in the presidential range over the weekend in fact.
