Proven consistent results and everything’s transparent, what more could you ask for… Great times!
Can’t wait to see some Stage 2 B6/7 S4 passes, should be exciting to say the least.
Patiently waiting for 10.7 pass info 8)
It should also be noted that only one customer has even actually gotten a JHM built motor and he got the built motor without the sleeved block. 5 weeks ago was the last time I talked with JHM and IIRC, Dru told me the first sleeved block was coming back from the machine shop that week and that 2 more, mine included, were due back within 2 weeks. I’m expecting a call from Keaton on Monday to see if I can get a pickup date setup for my car.
The nice thing is, the 10 second pump gas RS4 record has now been achieved. I know the 10.9 is just squeaking into the 10 second range but JHM was able to pull it off and did it first. There have been tons of runs since these videos were taken. Those 10 second passes were last year.
The stage 2 B6/7 S4 should be very impressive. I think the best approach is doing the same thing JHM did with the RS4 stage 1. Take it easy don’t push the envelope too hard at first.
When I spoke to Jake i n Nov/Dec (don’t remember exactly) he had a block ready to go. Maybe it wasn’t sleeved but at the 11K price tag without timing components I would assume it was.
Those blocks were never designated for the black car. The ones that were kept getting sold on. Whenever they have a block available for Jasons car they are too busy in other development to use it. Whenever they have the gaps in the sked, a customer wants an engine.
Unfortunately that’s the way it is. Will happen to Dan with the following einvariablyved rs4 blocks as well.
Gotcha, wonder how Jasons car is doing mechanically. I believe they bought it with what 130K on it? Wonder if it has any of the cylinder or valve problems so many others seem to have.
His car is awesome. I put a million miles on it when I visited them. It was the car we drove around the most and I loved grabbing the keys
As for problems, it has had probably… 6 different engines? Not really a good case study lol
They were making 500wtq with the nitrous kit on his car for a while, trying to find the limits. (they have a dyno of like 430 whp/500wtq they should post for a laugh)
They were making 500 whp with the supercharger kit and killed motors, trying to find the limits.
That poor car has had more thrown at it than any b67 in history, I can guarantee it. It currently has a ‘bad motor’ they pulled out of a wrecked car they bought at auction. Has timing chain problems. I had never heard the timing chain death rattle before that. It is still stage 1 supercharged with headers, and it is funking awesome.
We were driving it one day with three of us in the car weighing about 650 lbs, plus about 100lbs of cargo, and whipped the absolute shit out of an srt8 challenger. Like we put an instant bus on him. The throttle response is INSTANT thanks to the headers, and the top end is great thanks to the supercharger. I know there are faster cars but not many cooler cars than a supercharged 4.2 audi .
