lean rs4 tune

i actually have not had any experience with jhm products but am interested in the lwfw/stg 3/4 clutch and intake spacers.

was interested in the tune/exhaust but they can not deliver either.

i have nothing against jhm and was just making a statement that the other thread regarding clutches are all jhm clutches. that is it. my preference is for them to be successful bc they do make stuff for my car.

i do enjoy busting your ball since only one has dropped. also, you dont know what i know about cars.

the scary thing is that you don’t know what you don’t know.

Swansea, what’s all this testicle business about?

his sense of humour is…tired

I made a joke on aw when elevens said ‘grow some balls and powershift’ and I said ‘I have two balls but only one has dropped so far’.

I think the fact it. JHM has the most clutches sold by any company for the 4.2 Perioud. Seems people who have clutch issues all have the same issues. Most 95% of them have come back to be install error. THIS IS NOT DIFFERENT IN THE DOMESTIC market. JHM sells tons of parts so they are going to see the most fire.

You can’t talk shit on saki for not driving hard he has the fastest RS4 on record.

You act like saki is the one and only guy who defends JHM. Its the longest list and the longest line of support for any company. While I don’t care if you get scammed into some sub par parts you can’t say you were not told so before it happened.

Fact is mick and ben look super shady on shit and no one hold them accountable for talking and blaming JHM. I for one have seen tons of offerings for tons of cars. what jhm does and what they offer seems to be most people know ligit stuff when they see it.

Seems others are collectivly cought up on hype and hand play

I thought we were talking about cars. Are you sure you’re on the right website?

Lol thank you apat.

Must be a quattroworld thing. Maybe that why the OT section spawned wayOT.org/forums or whatever it is…so they could keep their knob and bollocks chat private.

I can barely even tell what the hell this guy is trying to say… It blows my mind that someone who can’t effectively communicate a thought, or type a legible sentence, is somehow able to own an RS4.

I really hope AR doesn’t start getting filled up with people like this. This site is an escape from the idiocy of all the other sites.

don’t worry BWT…guys who don’t get it won’t last here. They’ll quickly scurry back to their more comfortable homes.

Well I logged my car today…sitting in the garage…100% bone stock RS4…idling and then revving up to about 4000 RPMs like mick did. Logging 031 on VAGcom (Lambda ACTUAL and Lambda SPECIFIED).

Well, as it turns out, JHM has somehow snuck into my house and tuned my car too. IT’S SPIKING LEAN OH NO! WHY WOULD THEY DO THIS TO ME???

As mentioned earlier in the thread, the 2.0x ACTUAL lambda levels Mick was seeing (a.k.a. 2.0 x requested) when you are under no load and rev it then get off the throttle is TOTALLY NORMAL. This is because when you let off the throttle, the injectors on your car shut off, which makes the reading appear to spike lean momentarily. There are a number of reasons the car does that, but in any event, I just thought I’d show my logs to put a nail in this ugly coffin. Finally got my new VAGcom cable in after losing the old one.

I think Mick attributed this to his vacuum leaks (well…first he blamed JHM…then he found he had a vacuum leak or two). If he does this (useless) test again, he’ll find he is still seeing the same 1.9-2.0 x lambda actual when he lets of the throttle in neutral with no load after revving the engine.

Saki the 2.0 x level is not where the issue was its with the car running above 1.1 on average idle and under load. I logged more than just this plot.

You are correct, the issue was 2 vac leaks. Not the tune. The tuen only had input to this in that it runs closer to the upper limits, and it actually probably helped me detect the vac leaks earlier than i normally would have.

Excuse my overreacting on the tune, I have talked with Dan and the guys at JHM about this and I apologized to them for my initial reaction which was half the reason I was upset about the tune. The other half was of course as you know the issue with the SAI, but true to their word, the guys stepped up, got me a fix, and I am no longer looking at bleeding money for somethign I shouldn’t have to.

I hope you understand when a dealer and a tech and others tell you that its lean because of a tune, and/or the SAI needs to be replaced at a cost of $1200, and/or engines are blowing up because of going lean, you tend to get a bit worried. I certainly wish I could have filtered all the advice a bit better.

Anyways enough of that, lets get back to hating each other! haha

obviously the car runs lean when you get off the gas… when you are decelerrating if I’m not mistaken the injector actually shuts off.

FWIW the actual lambda has nothing to do with the tune, the REQUESTED lambda and lambda correction have everything to do with it. On boosted cars, your AFR can be lean as hell, but lambda correction would show you that the ECU could be adding 25% trying to adapt and that the requested AFR is nowhere close because a vacuum leak is messing everything up.

Correction tells the story of just about everything on these motors and it’s there for a reason

EDIT: I got beat by a few redundant comments. Glad to see OPs car is alive and well. PS dealership techs are idiots. There is a reason why the guys doubling and tripling the car’s power are so good at what they do
