Learn me on Revo

I’m not your bitch boy like Skywagon. I’ll pay someone else to do it when it’s convenient for me. I’m not going to top out 3rd gear on a public road so the anonymous analytics team can confirm that in fact REVO has a different log signature than APR (this is obvious).

But you are a bitch…

haha…Truer words have never been spoken.

Gee, thanks West?

Nothing to contribute but this was humorous to read over my lunch break lol

B8.5 = GIAC all day. Seems pretty straightforward.

No, it would be like saying 'one time Boeing was trying to figure out how to make an airbus 380, so they borrowed one from Air France, and crashed it…then said ‘sucks to be you Air France’

oh…then they did it again

AND AGAIN

(3x for those following at home)

The most incredible part about that is that Air France (S4 owners) keeps lending them planes (cars)

…waiting for clochner to berate you for wall of text ;D

haha that was awesome

I picture skywagon looking at west with a sad puppy face

Skywagon, I will be your friend. Fresh start. You’re my boy. I’ll protect you from these animals.

Haha I’m THIS close to doing so!

Kind of hilarious how probably 10 or so of us manage to have the same argument day after day, always finding new ways to stage it. Seems like West/Skywagon karma is a zero-sum game.

I look at it as my provocation meter. I have a controversial new idea and the karma slides. Doesn’t mean I’m wrong, usually means I’ve challenged someone dominant.

You never have a new idea; you spew the same crap in every single thread that relates to the drag strip and/or Revo. Tesla P85d, right?

First lithium battery on a B8. First spherical bearings in the front upper and lower control arms on a B8. First Pilot Sport Cup 2 on a B8. First Brembo GT-R on a B8 S4. First RS5 wave rotors on a B8 S4. I set the standard for a B8 motorsports alignment. Should I go on?

You know what I was referring to, West. I don’t see you getting negative reputation in your legitimate, helpful threads. In fact, I truly enjoy reading your posts about the handling aspects of the S4.

However, the second we start discussing tunes and the drag strip, you short circuit and act as if you’re some sort of martyr because you don’t know how to drive in a straight line.

Do I need rabies shots to post here?

Logs on “return to strip” thread.

Whatever helps you sleep better at night.

As an outside observer revo hasn’t ever been dominate in the Audi tuning game. Company’s like giac get in house cars and test test and retest. APR has done the same and has been very dominant in the b8.5 game they lack because of the DSG

Back to revo. To those that don’t know revo has blown up at least one b8 s4 motor on a customers car but them again that hasn’t just been an issue with the B8 S4 they did the same with a Rs4 as well. At this point any standard 1/4 mile testing shows revo down well behind giac. Just recently revo tried to custom tune Skywagons b8.5 S4. The results were not helpful after all the time spent revo still hasn’t figured out what giac and APR have. The biggest gain over APR is there ability to DSG tune.

Anyone buying any of the 3 vendor tunes in 2015 has an equal chance of their motor blowing. Higher power is higher liability, and you’re more likely to wear the transmission, half shafts, and sports diff as you run additional torque through it. The tuning game gets logarithmically more expensive as you try to extract the last 30 HP.

Honestly, just buy whichever tune your motorsports dealer carries. They usually carry just one, and they’ll support you and try to make you whole in the unlikely event of a mishap.

Motors used in motorsports can blow. I’ve seen an RS4 motor blow at Audi Club from a valve spring coming loose and falling into the cylinder. If it was an S4 we, the internet consumer protection league, would have blamed whatever tune was on the car. In this case he made quite a fuss and Audi of America covered $5000 of the repair, the dealer did some labor at a discount, and it was better than $15k out of pocket.
