I hate Prius drivers, it’s funny how they pretty much think they are invincible here in Cali. They don’t use their turn signals, cut in front of you, and manage to do 80+mph while still getting 45+mpg. Enjoy replacing them battery’s when they go dead!
Yeah I’ve read a few articles about the pollution that ones from the manufacturing of the batteries alone. It’s a barren wasteland for miles around the plants.
well thats the start of the life cycle, think of the end of it too… cradle to grave. At least an engine block can be melted down and reused, batterys arent as economical.
And think about efficiency of energy transmission, a fuel doesnt lose any energy content in transport (net you lose it from tankers/pumping through pipes)… a power line constantly loses energy. A plug in car will never be as environmentally friendly as a fuel powered car unless power generation becomes localized to each home.
