i just ordered the pads. can the sensors on the current pads be switched over to the new stoptech pads?
if not, where can i order a new pair of sensors?
i will try to post some photos this weekend
Stoptech pads have the sensor and connection built in. Plug and play.
I usually cut the harness off of the brake pad and solder the wires together and plug it back in.
But that’s also because I swap pads out for track events and thus am always aware of how much material I have left.
nice. thanks for all the info!
No problem. Post back with how it goes.
Good info data. Ive been wanting to switch my pads. I got Hawk ceramic pads last year and ive been unhappy with the initial bite that i get (or lack there of) .
How is the initial bite with the stop techs? My pads only have 10k on them but i want something with a stronger bite.
Ceramic pads suck for day to day. They work better when warm so they don’t make good city and slow speed driving
FastEddie: I can only speak to the StopTech Street Performance pads. IMHO: they feel just like stock, and behave exactly how a performance oriented street pad should. No issue with wet or dry. No issue with warm or cold. Much less dusting than stock, and my rotors look perfect.
Thanks data. I may switch over to those then. Yeah, the ceramic pads just arent working well for me. I do sit in a TON of stop and go traffic. I loved the stock pads actually. Ill have to search for the stop techs for the cayenne caliper i guess.
Any company will work hawk makes a great street pad. The ceramic is just terrible for small day to day non high speed stopping.
