Nice Vid

Not really sure who these guys are…(Audi Tuner over in the UK I guess) but nice display of Audi’s in a cool video so I thought I’d share.

http://vimeo.com/34019389

they make good videos and great dyno printouts.

Performance appears to be lacking.

-These are the guys who ‘re-tuned’ a PES M90 S5 and said that it made 550 horsepower. Owner ran 20x at the strip, best being 12.58 @ 112…a.k.a. just about what JHM did on their 320 whp B6 (12.70 @ 111)
-These are the guys who have ‘600, 700 and 800 horsepower’ b5 S4s (that also run in the 12s at Santa Pod Dragstrip).
-These are the guys who are now saying their tiny Rotrex centrifugal supercharger kit is making 600 hp on B7 RS4s (but who keep coming up with the usual littany of excuses for not going to the dragstrip, a.k.a. ‘this car isn’t made for the dragstrip’ and ‘the clutch can’t hold all the power we’re making’.).

On the RS4 and S5 SC kit all they’ve shown is pbox performance numbers, but when asked for the pbox file on a5oc so members could verify elevation to see if they were on a flat road (that’s what 6speedonline always does…independant verification of the file), they refused to give up the pbox data file. The excuse was ‘I wouldn’t even know how to do that’. They ignored repeated requests. They also took one to the Nurburgring and ran a lap time there as ‘proof’ lol. The time? 8:30 seconds…a.k.a. 21 seconds SLOWER than Audi achieved with a STOCK RS4. Why they would share that damning info is beyong me.

They may be legit…I don’t know…but all they seem to ‘accomplish’ is nice videos and great dyno numbers (on their own in-house dyno lol).

They do make really good video’s.

They seem to measure power in PS, what does that stand for and what it is measuring? It can’t be at the crank because PS numbers are always higher than those.

Their dyno cant be inflated by over 100hp now could it?

Also what was up with the tail lights on the SC RS4 - they are hideous.

Yes

Ps is pfarde stelke or something. Direct translation is horse power. It is like bhp, but usually inflated by about 1% (one)

Yes it can. Dynos mean nothing compared to other dynos. All that dynos are good for is measuring delta on one car with mods, and as we all know its still a frigging crapshoot to weather or not that delta will show up on the road.

Rice looking lights.

As per saki: 1 imperial horsepower = 1.01 Pferdestärke (or “metric” horsepower). Things got confusing for a while in the UK as some manufacturers started advertising PS ratings. I use this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Volkswagen_Group_engines as a reference a lot and find it irritating that they use kilowatts in the titles like 2.2 R5 20vT 162-225kW.

As for UK tuning generally. I have to say that dynos and BHP/CHP are king for the Brits. When living in the UK, these are what we speak of when referring to modding cars. That’s just the culture. I never really considered the 1/4 mile as a useful benchmark. Probably because there’s only one NHRA track in the UK. Having said that, Top Gear seem to squeeze in a 1/4 mile into some of their head to heads. Usually to make a hilarious point!

Then I moved to Canada and got bullied by saki lol.

LOL, I knew Saki would come in and throw down the low down on these guys. As I said, nice display of Audi’s. It’s amazing to me that there are quite a few people that fall into the hands of tuners like this for this platform. I guess a good marketing initiative and ignorance on the part of your customers makes for a nice little business.

As for them being legit, I think they are, but only to the folks that don’t know any better… JHM needs to open a UK office pronto.

Anyway, thanks for the history lesson. The video really made me proud to be an Audi S owner so mission accomplished in that respect. Funny part is, now I want a nice Vortech SC even more.

BTW, here’s the the link to the forum where I found this. Just for shits and giggles.

http://www.luxury4play.com/audi/97113-most-powerful-audi-s5-world.html

We use KW here and it is so annoying, especially when jurno’s start talking about cars here I find it hard to reference it to other cars because I mainly read UK write ups. The rule of thumb I use is 1bhp = .75KW. Then you have Americans who use WHP or AWHP and when you hear about cars that 450-500AWHP it is so much more impressive, unless it is a tail B5 and runs 12.3 then you scratch your head.

What you mean a Lamborghini LP640 vs a Golf Gti

it’s funny, the TTS/MRC Rotrex kits are being touted all over and these videos and photos of MRC’s shiny floors are enough to have sold a half a dozen already to the a5oc and RS246 guys. They’ll buy just about anything.

did anyone mention that they’re about $20,000? lol…total joke.

p.s. funniest part? That guy DJPESRS4 who bought a PES M90 kit for his RS4 then argued till he was blue in the face that his car was a rocket ship and the M90 was big enough…he ditched his Eaton M90, poured a ton more money in, had MRC retune it and instal an Eaton M112. He has already ditched THAT and is one of the first MRC/TTS Rotrex supercharged RS4s now. One day he’ll have the JHM Vortech kit…will make 500+whp…will run a LEGIT 11.3 at Santa Pod…and he’ll then contact us and say ‘thanks’. Until then, it’s an expensive merry go round he (and these other guys) is on.

HOLY F@*K

A joke indeed. . .

Saki, are you “pinkberry”? He doesn’t sound quite enough harsh enough to be you, but at least someone is raising questions on that site.

It’s getting pretty out of hand over there, people are now claiming and agreeing that “This is the best S/C kit ever!” - Then it became, “This is the best S/C kit ever for an Audi!”

I feel like this has turned into a quattroworld argument but with zero hope of anyone bringing reason to their lack of logic.
The best Supercharge kit in the world IMHO.

^^^doesnt get out much IMHO

Sorry Pinkberry but he is right it really is the best supercharger kit in the world! so as promised I said i’d report back on my tts kit on my rs4. where do I start? I can’t compare it to pes because its like chalk and cheese night and day and so on it’s truly epic. My concern was there would be an element of ‘lag’ when comapred with my old pes kit but I could not have been any more wrong, you have a positive surge in power all the way through the rev range BUT when you get to 4.5-5k rpm all hell breaks loose its like some one flicking the switch on a turbo or turning on nitrous it’s breath taking. This kick is where the tts and pes are worlds apart performance wise the pes dies a death on a thrash due to heat soak or what ever you want to call it but the tts just bursts into life when you ‘cain’ it.I also like how I can potter around off boost and recieve some good mpg, all though at first I kept finding myself drop into second and thrash through the gears. Looks wise yet again the tts kit is miles ahead it looks so OEM you can tell theres been a lot of effort put on how this kit looks as well as how it performs. I like the massive charge cooler and sperate oil cooler it’s the attention to detail a supercharger kit for our cars should have. i’m only 500 miles into ownership and it’s made me fall in love with my b7 all over again. in short if you have the cash sitting this kit is an absolute must buy

Yes but you raved similarly about the pes m90 and then mrc m112 kits.

When TTS kit beats the e92 m3 that ran 10.6 @ 130 on pump gas, no meth, no nitrous with just a SC, exhaust and drag tires…then we’ll start throwing around superlatives. Until then let’s just say you’re happy and we all can’t wait to see it run down ‘the pod’!

Sorry but have you ever went from stock rs4 (384ps) to supercharged pes m90 (520 ps 600nms) to m112 (565ps 695nms) to tts kit (628ps 620nms)? I have and every one is a step up so I have every right to rave on as every kit has been a step up! Wtf has an m3 got to do with an Audi supercharger kit? Behave yourself pink berry I believe i’m in a better position than most to comment! Did I mention my mates runa pes cab and an apr saloon? I’ll meet up with them for a little head to head  ! Can’t comment on apr yet but so far my mate lee is delighted. All I can say IMO the tts beats pes hands down in every single area! I’ll run my track prepped 800hp LOBA powered s4 b5 wide body against your m3 when mines is done  don’t think anyone here would give a shit who won would they?

the guy said ‘this is the best supercharger in the world!’ which I laughed at. Then you told me 'he is right.

I put things into perspective for you both by reminding you that an E92 BMW M3 with VF SC, exhaust and drag radials just ran 10.6 @ 130mph on 93 octane gas. New Mustang GTs run 10s with supercharger kits. Both cars run high 12s/low 13s stock, just like the RS4.

Until the TTS RS4 matches or beats that lets just take it easy throwing around the ‘greatest in the world’ title. I’m sure the kit is awesome, and it’s great having your input since you’ve taken those other kits through their paces. The forum owes you a debt of gratitude for your feedback.
Did I mention my mates runa pes cab and an apr saloon? I’ll meet up with them for a little head to head  ! Can’t comment on apr yet but so far my mate lee is delighted.

looking forward to it. Just want to see some results other than a nurburgring lap time that is 20 seconds slower than stock. Wish Santa Pod wasn’t so far from MRC and I wish Santa Pod wasn’t closed all summer/fall when TTS/MRC were out testing the kit. Oh, wait.

Just frustrating…this thread is 20 pages long, and the other one even longer and we still have nothing concrete showing performance. I love seeing all these options show up for our cars, but when I asked TTS for the PBOX data file to ‘verify’ elevation change to validate their claims (claims that the car is as fast as a Lamborghini Murcielago lol) , these guys suddenly acted like they didn’t know how to work a computer. They just built a supercharger kit for an RS4 that has two ECUs…I think they should know how to ATTACH a file to an email.

We talking Audi here not BMW.
It’s the best Supercharge kit in the world for a Audi.
^^ haha I didn’t realise that was kicking off on a5oc again. I haven’t been there for a while. That place turned into a real zoo when saki started asking very reasonable and normal questions. The same ones asked of JHM and APR for their various kits.

It’s funny to watch the tuning wars for both the B8 S4 and FSI/V8’s. The smart money is on the customer who either sits back and watches how things pan out or the guy who’s willing to try different things and not be a baby if something comes out that’s better.

I always laugh when I see saki’s alter ego’s around the forums. I was sad to see the end of “just browsing” on AZ!

That’s not me. Just an S5 owner with his head on straight. I like his style.

Anyone notice that all the A5oc guys have finally figured out that the PES M90 kits are exactly what we all told them they were (good for 60-80 hp over stock, unable to really take advantage of the S5/RS4’s capacity)?

They banned me for telling them what the M90 was all about, and for sharing the truth about PES’ history with the B6/7 S4 (PES joined as a paying sponsor and I was banned 3 days later). Now the A5OC guys are all saying what I (and alot of us here) were saying 18 months ago about the PES kit. Funny how that happens, isn’t it? This happened with the VF and PES M90 kit supporters on audizoo and quattrofail…they attacked us and labelled us troublemakers and ‘haters’ for sharing inconvenient truths about the M90 on the 4.2…then came around and started repeating the stuff we told them.

Here’s the kit pricing lol

Superchargers
Upgrade your RS4 to 600PS with forced induction. Includes full kit of parts for the TTS Supercharger kit.
£13080.00

Labour for fitting TTS Supercharger Kit (16 hours)
£1305.60
FYI 1 £ = 1.58 USD

Therefore the price of the kit is $20,666 and install is $2,061

Considering theyr’e in the UK, shipping will be a couple hundred more, taxes about a left arm.

That is a chunk of change…people are buying those kits too. wow.

The APR kit is what, 5K cheaper, at least we know that has the better tune :stuck_out_tongue:

Saki, this is the posted price apparently.
The prices are £10,600+ vat for the s5 kit and £10,900 + vat for the rs4. Both of these prices are excluding fitting and mapping. I believe Mrc now have full pricing options on there website including fitting, exhausts options ect.
That thread has blown up some in the past day or two, pinkberry is really asking some questions. The wheels are still just spinning, but interesting that at least one individual is asking a couple questions.

Oh, an djpesrs4 posted up some interesting claims about his various stages at the strip (which he also is admitting the “strip” isn’t verified and a bit questionable. . . )
My m90 kit made 600hp? Wow you talk bollocks it made 520 and ran 12.3 my m112 made 565 and ran 11.77@123mph I posted time slips and videos just to shut folk up. My car ran over 600hp with nitrous not just a supercharger. Testimony from a guy who just paid 15k for a kit how would you know what i paid? . People like you really wind me up, your a key board gangster. As for Mrc testing their car I’d rather as a customer it drove around Europe putting on the miles than blasting up a drag strip. It was drove by Doug who’s just your normal guy average driver maybe done 20 laps round the ring. Go give it pro race driver see what it does. I was the guinea pig in the uk who had to go through all the trial and error of the pes kit, Mrc have done all the hardwork for me and now my car runs better than it ever has. Darren as stated above mate I ran 12.3 on m90 and 11.77 on the m112

The run I made 11.85 was my best 0-60ft time the best time of the day was a 6k launch that ate my clutch and bottled it at the end of the run. Car sounds awesome straight pipe all the way back no cats
^Summary of claims:
M90 RS4 kit made 520hp, ran 12.3@???
M112 RS4 kit made 565hp, ran 11.77@123

yeah I remember that guy. I liked him. He was just eager as fuck to make the RS4 awesome. Gotta love that. He unfortunately got stuck in a couple of dead end products and was PES’ guinea pig (and MRC’s as well). I was a little hard on him last year after he was defending Spinner to no end, but after Spinner admitted I was right and that he was a paid promotor for PES, djPESrs4 and I had a good chat on PMs. It appears he has since changed his username lol.

Anyway, Crail is an old airport runway that gets setup as a dragstrip. No idea on how accurate it is or the timing equipment but considering it’s just a typical european casual strip, it’s tough to compare.

Santa Pod however down in England (really close to MRC apparently) is a legit full fledged dragstrip like we’re used to. I believe it’s IHRA certified. For perspective, the Eaton M90 supercharged S5 ran a 12.5 @ 112 there (with PES M90 but an MRC re-tune, full exhaust, density altitude of minus 1000 so awesome, and with a 1.8 60 foot time so a good bit of driving.)

As for the pricing, I posted the pricing from MRC’s webpage for the TTS kit. Not sure what you were quoting…maybe the hardware alone minus tuning/fuelling?
