WOW thats an incredible find. Great work. Is audi selling you a new core… It looks like yours took some damage getting it out is that meant to even be a serviceable part.
Nope out of warranty, just buying a new one, not terribly expensive
It seems as it was just a general part failure and not damage from an outside source. Guess Hanz may have had too much to drink Sunday night and mine was built Monday morning

Good thing it wasn’t a bigger problem. We have seen leaking intercoolers hydrolock motors on the B67 S4 when people thought PES knew what they were doing.
Such an odd failure for sure, I echo the comment above, very lucky the motor didn’t hydrolock. But I guess like a leaking head gasket, the worst time is under vacuum, probably at idle. It’s weird, you think when you go down a couple liters, you would’ve had a low coolant warning at some point. You never got one? or you have divorced the cooling loops?
I have the ams kit and refilled once thinking it had burped again, which is why I didn’t put it together until afterwards…very lucky
