Quitting

I missed that episode. Got in to Seinfeld late… couldn’t stand Jerry in the beginning! He couldn’t delivery a punchline without a smirk… bothered the shit out of me! haha!

Thanks buddy! Actually I’m a little happy about it, i could have a cigarette and enjoy it and not keep thinking about having another and another.

Cloch…yeah I think falling off is what to avoid, something about people in the 20s making an oath not to drink and staying on the water wagon. Funny, I drink socially/binge drink the odd weekend up north or south, but have no problems going a month without a drop.

Smoking, though, man, not a day I don’t think about it. Another ex-smoker said 'jspazz, you may quit but you’ll always be a smoker." so true.

So who else has quit? or started? lol

Had a couple smokes while I was on the lads trip in Miami. Felt guilty so I came here to confess. First I’ve had since this thread.

It was better than sex. I actually confessed to my wife the next day, I freaked her out since didn’t know where the conversation was going and we were on the lads trip for my friend’s 40th, but she was relieved when she heard cigarette hahaha.

Anyway since I’ve gone another 9 days smoke free.

No worries bud… don’t beat yourself up over it just make sure you stay on the wagon…

How does the whole “wagon” thing work? Is it on or off for quitting the substance in question?

Pretty sure this was discussed on a Seinfeld episode

I don’t agree with that. I used to spoke a half pack a day for just over 7 years and I quit cold turkey. I haven’t smoked a cigarette in over 11 years and have zero desire to. Give it time you’ll be fine…

I’m giving it time but I’m getting fat. The scale says I quit smoking 20 lbs ago.

That is 100% true! You will have to eat better and increase your activity level or you will gain weight… It’s worth it though!

you missed that episode? Too bad. If only Seinfeld episodes were replayed after original air date…

Yeah I only started watching it the last couple of years. Like I said can’t stand Jerry smirking before the punch line. I’ve seen a lot of episodes since but not all 180.

He’s a really bad actor. Good comic, but a bad actor. When he’s surrounded by 3 great actors, it shows even more.

There are a number of times where you catch them laughing during a take that makes it into the show. It’s always funny to see how loose they were about it. Very different show.

I watched “The Opposite” and “The Hamptons” episodes last night. Two of my all-time favorites.

And it’s funny watching the Hamptons now in hi-def - you can totally see that George’s girlfriend is not actually topless.

That was a beauty. George is at his excrutiatingly best awkward self in The Hamptons episode. All of season 5 is pretty much gold.
