It was 17degrees in NC today and the schools had a 2hr delay, lol.

Was in Regina for a day… Says it was only down to -33 there, but the temp said -41 on the rental car. In Edmonton now for a couple days and it’s quite warm. Hasn’t dipped below -20

TBH I find Vancouver weather way worse for FEELING cold. -20 here doesn’t feel as cold as 0 in Vancouver, air is much more dry here.

PS. Aren’t there a couple people on here from Edmonton?

Yeah it was pretty brutal with that wind. I was out early yesterday morning and saw -17. Wind chill was -50 at one point. Didn’t even try walking anywhere.

I took my garbage out this morning and it was pretty cold.

Straight up -6 fahrenheit
Wind Chill -30 fahrenheit

With that being said, not horrible. Definitely no curfew lol.

I’m not aware of any curfews in Illinois but I did read of some down south and in Indiana. I think they are all “voluntary” or for juveniles.

Don’t forget all of the morons trying to throw boiling water in the air to watch it freeze.

I’ll be honest… we did that last night. Threw several coffee cups of it out of our 12th floor window. We were smart enough to wear gloves and throw it with the wind so no burns!

Sounds pretty horrible to me lol. Everything shut down around us pretty much and we didn’t get that cold. But I am in the south!

We did go from 48 as a high on Sat, to 1 as a low on Sun. The high on Monday was 12, which is the lowest high I can ever remember around us. Pretty impressive swing, but PT’s swing still has that beat.

does Tennessee really count as the south?

It’s south of the Mason-Dixon line, so yea. And I doubt the north is going to claim to be home to country music haha. But more seriously, we don’t see much cold weather here. We all still talk about “the ice storm of '96”.

As a golfer, about half the greens in the mid-state area are bermuda (mostly mini-verde). We’re considered to be in the “transition zone”. But unless you have limited play or the cash to support it, Bentgrass greens are a luxury to try to keep around in the state.

Ya I think the Indianapolis mayor ordered the roads closed.

Chicago deployed their entire fleet of snowplows (~300) over the weekend, and the roads were still pretty bad. I don’t think it stopped snowing all weekend. Literally.

I call them morons because they burned themselves… Sounds like you did it right and avoided being burnt.
