It was funny to see people’s reactions when I actually wore safety equipment like a face shield. I made it a regular occurrence to walk by the GM and Regional Manager with the face splatter shield/gloves covered in fluids like coolant or oil, huge ear muffs on for no reason, and/or rocking tinted pimp safety glasses. After a while they would only comment on the trifecta.

Beem, I try to keep one hand clean and one hand that touches the raw meat when possible so I have one hand to scratch my nose.
But the hot pepper comments are very true. You figure after a dozen instances of washing your hands it’s all good, but then you touch your eye and your fucked for the night. Anyone have a trick ingredient to wash your hands with to truly fix that problem?

Switch back and forth between the orange gojo and lemon juice mixed with baking soda. A few guys who were fishermen told me the only way to get certain oils and smells off your skin thoroughly was using that combo.
I use ^ this method, ill substitute dawn for lemon juice, as it moisturizes your hands as well! I’m also a big fan of dragging my nails over a bar of soap before heading out to work on the car, by doing this keeps particles from getting under your nails, making cleaning your hands later a breeze!
This. In general people won’t wear PPE unless they are forced to, I struggle when i walk through my facility to encourage it but usually people need the stick to enforce it. I’m amazed they don’t talk about the need for cleaner air when you are working at a garage. I can guarantee the VOC content in the workshop air is through the roof…
