That’s a Yakima box correct? Can you open the rear hatch without it touching the box?

It is the Yakima (Skybox Lo-Pro). I have it on whispbars as well. As for the hatch, you have a choice to make. Either you bring the bars forward a bit to the point where the front bars block the sunroof from tilting open but clear the hatch OR you push the bars a little further back, which allow the sunroof tilt but the hatch doesn’t clear completely.
That’s the only annoying thing. I haven’t made a final decision yet but I think I’m going to go with the hatch clearing the box and give up the sunroof tilt as I rarely use the tilt option anyway.
I agree 100%- tilting the sunroof is WAY lower priority than opening the hatch. Any chance you’d be willing to post some pics of the box: a few good overall perspectives, closeup of sunroof interference, show how far it hangs over the windshield, closeup of interface with the rear hatch open, from the front or rear to show how much room remains on each side of the whispbars? What’d you pay to have it painted to match?
If it’s just tilt, that’s nothing. although some people use tilt a lot. I never do. I will either open it, or nothing.

I don’t have any photos with the rear hatch open but I have it set up so that the rear hatch spoiler clears the box by about half an inch.
As for the painting, I have a connection so I only paid for the paint plus a little extra to show my appreciation (i.e. $50 cash). I have no idea how much it would normally cost. It had to obviously be sanded down first.
I used to get positive comments on the car itself. Now I just get positive comments on how great the painted box looks. Most of the time, it’s people coming up to me in parking lots lol. I also notice a lot of people in cars looking up/pointing at the box when driving/at a red light.
The tilt function is great when you gotta fart and you dont wanna hotbox yourself. It creates a nice suction and you only smell your own shit for a brief second.
edit: not sure I will be farting on my recaros once I have the RS4, but maybe I can build something to actively whisk farts away from the seat
This comment confused me immensely. I thought you were talking about the tilt function on your seats and was trying to figure out how tilting the seat helped dissipate a fart. Then I wondered how an autocross thread became about farts.
