Ahh and the wheel on that m3 kind have the same color of my wheel set up! Humm man u got me thinking now!
Yellow and graphite/gunmetal go very well together, it really contrasts the yellow but in a way in which it makes it seem not so gaudy, like a shadow over the brightness that is yellow calipers. Plus it looks really nice to have those accents when the car is moving, you just see a hint of yellow between the spokes.
I have a similar issue, I have a red car.
Yellow = mcdonalds
Green = Christmas
Blue = wtf?
Black = why bother no one will see them
Silver = refined color, not gaudy, yet it represents a fine barrel aged whiskey, while looking very clean.
Purple/pink/rainbow/tiedie = belongs on a civic.
So I’m stuck with body matched red, or a nice gunmetal/silver.
So what would you do w the rear calipers? Leave it black or all same color?
Paint them too, I’ve always thought it looks better when brakes match front and back even if the front are much bigger. I think BBK’s are strange because you end up with HUGE brakes in the front that are glow in the dark colors, and then the rears look tiny and useless, and unnoticeable.
But of course its your car, Do what makes you happy.
Im in the processes of Powder Coating my BBK and picked up another set of stock rear calipers to paint so everything matches.
Red here as well…I’ve been through this exact same thought, several times I’ve seen red/yellow look good but mostly on true exotics. Black is too safe/boring. Red/red might be too much. I’m thinking a Ti colour.
Covering that ugly rear calipers!

Lookin good. Such an easy mod made a big difference
Read some contradictory discussions about just how good it is to pc brakes and that painting them is better. Heat tolerance and dissipation issues when pc. Brakes obviously need to as much cooling as possible and ive heard painting with high temp is better than pc. Just what I’ve read. I dont believe many higher end calipers, brembo for one, recommend pc and are instead factory painted.

i used to paint all of my calipers from my previous audis/cars and they always came out outstanding! :)never had a problem!
I had good luck using the brush on g2 stuff. It has at least 4 years and still glossy and fairly easy to wash of brake dust. I’d just stick to paint over pc for brake calipers.

I used g2 on my factory brakes before putting a bbk up front. Very satisfied with the results, put on 4 coats. The g2 actually did better with the heat than my stoptechs, which are now turning a maroonish color. I have a b8 fwiw.
When u guys used the brush to paint the calipers, it turn out to be nice and smooth or you experience some runs on the paint?
The brush on g2 stuff did not run at all for me. It has a catalyst and hardener and needs to be applied within a few hours and is pretty thick. No runs. But I was really pleased with it and pretty easy to use. I just left calipers on too. Key was to prep the surface and just be ready to go once you mix the paint and be ready to start painting.

Used 4 coats als like drob above mention
Any close up pics? Please!
Tough to see behind the CH’s. Let me try to get a suitable one. Dont mind the scuffed up stickers which by the way held up real good but for me scraping them trying to fit wheels. High temp S4 stickers, no clear
Sorry Denis. Not best pic. You can def see the cast imperfections but the g2 does as good a job as any to fill it. I’ve seen duplicolor versions that look much worse and the paint fades fast. These are pretty much as glossy as they were when I first painted them. I’ll get better ones for you. Need to rotate tires any how

I wonder what color would look best on a black car with bronze wheels?
