RS4 o2 Sensor Information Needed - anyone had any experience? Got one for sale?

In the installation of my downpipes/exhaust last week, my B1S1 o2 sensor died.

I’m getting a CEL for bank one sensor one (passenger side, before catalytic converter) not communicating. I imagine one of 3 things happened:

a. it was damaged during removal/re-connection
b. it was not properly secured and the wire melted on the hot downpipe
c. it just died at that exact moment that my exhaust was installed (highly unlikely)
d. it is just not properly re-connected (highly unlikely but that would be great lol)

So my questions are

  1. does anyone have one they want to sell me?
  2. does anyone know the exact part # of that one?
  3. does anyone know if it is indeed just melted, if the wires can be spliced back together and fixed that way?
  4. anything else I should know?

Bosch OEM Oxygen Sensor is list price at $210, i can get it for you for $135.

I threw him a deposit instantly, then he told me he might have someone who had dibs before me but he’s going to let me know if it’s mine by tomorrow afternoon…

I’m hoping i get it because i found a motor already and i was planning on going JHM blower right way. We’ll see. I’m praying to the Audi gods… If the car is very clean i might unload my lease and keep the RS with no payments which would be great.

I think it’s a better parts car than anything.

If you pay $7,000 for it, then install an engine, you’re looking at probably $14-15,000 out of pocket for an RS4 with a million miles (in the eyes of the next buyer). Won’t be worth much more than that if you sold it the next day.

Wouldn’t be a bad keeper. Apparently he replaced starter, brakes, tires all in the last year. Of course you just have to hope the replacement engine is in good shape.

Parting it out could be worth $16,000-18,000. That’s pretty solid vs. the $7000 to buy it. Of course I don’t know if he’d sell it for $7000…just what I heard he was looking for.

From what i’ve heard me and the other guy offered the same amount which is $6,500… I have since offered him more to see if he can seal the deal with me but haven’t heard back since he told me that he’d let me know friday.

Hahaha that would be hysterical, and Joey that guy… Sold me a few things for my car before i traded in my B6 and all the parts he sent me were completly the opposite of how he described them…

I guess seeing that post on QW about the NJ buyer i should probably be expecting my deposit back… That’s a real bummer…

Apparently the o2 sensor I need is 1K0-998-262AA. The old part # was 079-906-262B

It’s not the same as the S4 ones are they? If it’s the front I have I’ll just ship to ya and you can use em or do w/e with em.

I ended up having to replace b1s2 and b2s2 after my exhaust install. I’d have part numbers for ya otherwise.
