Ah, understood.
Off topic but you should start a thread here for that B5 - looks like a lot of stuff went missing due to some “incident” that got moderated in a very English way!
Haha yeh I’d rather not talk about it! That b5 will one very special car custom gear, set ceramic brakes some very special rotiforms and loads more ill start one when I’m at my pc! My b7 project officially starts today so I’ll do one on that as well
ehh, I was just referring to you supercharging both motors. I went the Trask route, suits that bike well. Nice job on the V8 SC.
Audi’s win hands down. i hated my V rod, it was the only bike I got knocked off in 40 years. >:(
Just thought I’d bump this back up… anyone know any new news?
news about what? The various supercharger kits out there?
AMD - no update that I’ve heard. They were supposed to release the kit to the public last week. Instead, they haven’t updated us with a lick of info since their ‘teaser’ photo a couple months ago. Even on the private forums I have seen nothing posted. Maybe a WAYOT member will chime in (like snowtrooper) and let us know if he has seen anything. Jon cohen (the engineer behind the kit) posted the other day, but was talking about the kit as if they hadn’t even driven a car with it on yet. here’s the quote he made when replying to someone who said removing the RS4 intake manifold flaps made the car idle/drive rough on cold starts
JonathanC: “the SC kit being worked on does not preserve the flappers. Hopefully overcoming the less cylinder filling with forced induction and a specific flapper less tune.”
To me that says ‘we didn’t account for the driveability problems an IM without a complex flap system might cause…and we don’t know if our design causes those problems because we haven’t driven the car yet’.
JHM - they have had their supercharger on Dan@JHM’s car for a couple of months and have put a bunch of miles on it. He was pretty excited about it and was constantly looking for anyone to race lol. They have 3 customers ready to be the first to get the kit, ironically all of them are currently APR supercharged. So expect to see 3 APR supercharger kits for sale here shortly.
APR - status quo…still producing a very nice kit at a premium price (around $14,000 or something) using the TVS1320
TTS - status quo…and selling well according to the reports on this thread and others by the TTS guys horsepower and deltaV. Haven’t seen anything else. Their poster boy danny a.k.a. TTSRS4 had his car in for a repaint and interior refresh so he has been down for a month or two, otherwise, I’m sure we’d have heard more about his car and their kit. The other kit owners seem quite happy.
PES and VF - who really cares?
here’s another run for a TTS supercharged RS4. It ran 11.62 at a temporary/runway strip. There were a few other Audis there but the times are all over the map
REVO DSG B8 S4 - 12.6 (these usually run mid to low 12s)
MRC DSG B8 S4 - 11.8 (pulley, tune, catless and milltek…which is a combo on APR cars etc. that usually runs low 12s on pump and might nick into the 11s on race fuel. Not sure what MRC was running)
Stock RS4 - guy seemed to launch well, then was all mad about fucking up a couple of shifts. He ran 13.5
Hard to say. Meet was called GTI international in case you find more videos online and have some other ‘known’ comparables that we can use to gauge the track.
Yeah that’s basically what I wanted to know. Any idea when they’ll put out numbers for the JHM one? Looking forward to seeing those.
JHM will be very slow and deliberate about it, you can be sure. They won’t tell us anything until they’ve really nailed it down.
an update from AMD.
Some Charger info:
Posted by: jason@AMD (273) on 2012-08-28 11:44:19 | AdvertiserThe charger has been running for a while now and a considerable amount of tuning has been done. I am working with EPL, which is nice as the customer will be able to simply flash the car with a supplied cable, as opposed to removing the ECU’s and shipping them.
We are developing two separate kits, both utilizing the Eaton TVS1900 charger, and an industry dominating 6" charge depth Garrett 1000hp air-to-water intercooler core. One will be very minimal as to keep costs down as much as possible. We have been calling it “Stage .9” and it will not require upgraded high pressure fuel pumps. We’ve been working VERY hard to make retail pricing on this option only have 4 digits, and offer around 100whp power increase. This is the configuration currently on the car that was tested on Saturday at the Ridge, and considering ambient temps were over 90 deg the car and cooling system performed well with the ‘minimal’ kit.
The next step is to install our full “Stage 1” kit. It will have additional coolers, upgraded fuel pumps, and more boost. Installation is expected to begin the week after next (aka 2 weeks lol) and is expected to offer at least 150whp increase based on the performance of the current system. Pricing is not locked down for this option, and anyone with “Stage .9” can upgrade at any time with little difficulty.
The base kit will not be released for sale until tuning, development, and track testing is complete on the big boy option. At this point I would expect that to be October.
Summary
- they have ditched the TVS2300 and will offer two TVS1900 kits
- they are going to offer 100 whp or 150+whp over stock (both numbers sound low so we’ll see)
- the 100 whp package should be around $10,000 flat
- EPL will tune the kits
100 whp over stock is 420 whp. That’s TVS1320 type performance/production. I guess they’re targeting APR’s 1320 kit with that one. APR has been selling those kits for around $13,000 of late. That will likely drop even further once this is out.
150 whp over stock is 470 whp. Not that high really, although he did say ‘at least’ 150whp over stock.
They have been running it on that donor car for a little while including some lapping this weekend. Will be very interesting to see when they start showing performance testing (although they’ve never gone to the strip in their B5 offerings, so don’t hold your breath for timeslips…probably just dyno and 60-130)
another AMD update, this time from Jonathan Cohen from Aviva (the kit designer). Someone asked if they were ditching the TVS2300 option (which Jason @ AMD appeared to indicate when he made no mention of it as an option)
[quote]Both chargers fit.
As noted, the base hardware package, will make all the power you can make on the stock fuel system. That number depends on how liberal a dyno you are using. This is a fixed fuel limited power ceiling, well below the full potential.
The next level as Jason mentioned with larger Fuel pumps, more fueling, cooling and boost, will have a significant power increase.
EPL will have the most developed tune for the package due to time invested, information shared and expertise. You are free to try anything else.
This manifold design will not work for the port injection v8 so no S4 application yet.

Hello all. Newbie. First post. If this is an ignorant question, and maybe I missed something in the past 11 pages, then please forgive me. But here goes…
Is there anyone here on this forum from the US that is running the TTS kit, or is it still only in the UK?
I got in touch with Mr. Justin Gill at Justin Gill Motorsports and he says his shop has experience installing and tuning the TTS kit, so I’m wondering if there is any “user data” for reference?
Thanks guys. Happy to have found this forum, it seems like there is much better info here than elsewhere on the net.
There is a dealer (an S5 owner who is becoming a dealer) for TTS named RNLABAS. He has the kit installed on his B8 S5.
He posts on A5oc and can be reached there for that information.
His posts have suggested that he will not provide quarter mile times or anything (someone asked him the other day if he would, so hopefully he has come around). that thread is the TTS/Rotrex supercharger thread on A5oc on the last page. Check it out and hit him up for info.

interesting development…APR sale. If the RS4 kit was $15,000+install before…it appears they’re now offering
kit
clutch
flywheel
oil change
carbon cleaning
install
for $15,000 if you take the car to APR in opelika Alabama.
So you get the clutch/flywheel/carbon cleaning/oil change/install for free.
They are also offering kit + oil change for $13,000 via their dealer network.

Hopefully Krytonik chimes in once his AMD set-up is installed. He is going to be one of the stage 1 beta testers I believe.

Yeah will be interesting but if epl tunes that one (great hardware) into failure it will get ugly and real quick.
When he was the PES beta and guys called the kit out as shit, he took it real personally and shit got real weird for a while there. There was an alias account that fired insults at anyone who questioned krypyonik our pes and all kinds of glorious lulz ensued, as did a banning.
apr sale on SC seems not too bad.
you get APR SC plus JHM stage 3 clutch/lwfw installed for 15K.
i know the JHM stage 3 kit cost 1600.
what is an install of a clutch usually run?
i know a SC install is between 1.2-2K.
Does the APR kit include the all important CV version of the tune?
Sounds like a reasonable deal. Any news on the JHM kit?
Yes it does. They released that to all old kits even, ages agO.
No idea on the JHM kit.not a priority right now
- Get flash server finalized
- Get exhaust into production RS4, A4 3.0
- Built motor project and B6 S4 stage 2/3 SC
Dans car is being used for finalizing the new exhaust at the new fab facility.
That’s from dan himself. He can’t wait for RS4 supercharger…out is going to be awesome and cheap and should crush.
Amd looks like they have the same idea as JHM…blower, no cooling, for cheap…then get more complicated for more money. Stay around/under 10,000…destroy Apr’s sales…destroy PES…evil laugh.
Of course amd is using epl for tuning…and we all know how"successful" they have been…lol. Will certainly dyno great though at amd!
