Looked jumbled, I should have extrapolated more. Referenced eaton because I know how much you like references. [;)]

Haha!! Nice. I thought I was the old man on the site, but you got me beat. Happy early Birthday!!

No, 58 is young. I turned 69 last November.
horsepower just got owned
He might be for sale though. Offers…?? :-*
You’re selling horsepower? Poor him.
I’ll buy him a pint of his favourite lager or bitter in June when I’m over there (if he’s anywhere near the places I’ll be visiting)
Don’t know if I can afford to keep him. I have a B6 S4 Avant to support and modify.
lol… Nice!! This thread definitely got off track.
Back on topic - Horsepower, how’s the clutch? Are you making it to Santa Pod this weekend?
Rich has gone away for the weekend but the Mrc boys went down to santa pod with a couple cars tonight. I tagged along Late enough to see one run at least. Dougs rs4 never ran as it developed a knackered battery and wouldn’t start ended up calling our friends at the aa to come and get her started. Stu from Mrc managed to get 3 runs in Dannys car. The car was stock interior ect and had 3/4 of a tank of fuel in it. He was still struggling with the start. None of us here are really 1/4 mile guys so you will have to excuse the lack of technique. I can’t seem to upload the photo of the time slip from my phone tonight so il just post up the details of the best run.
Run 1. Rt=0.8834 6’ 1.8658 330’ 5.1272. 1/8et 7.7094 mph 95.29. 1000’ et 9.9010 1/4 et 11.7131 mph 124.76
If he could Lern to launch it propperly then we are fairly confident there should be a 11.5 or 11.4 in there somewhere. Need to go back and try again after some practice.
TBH the 60 ft time of 1.86 secs is pretty good I think so the launch can’t have been all that bad. RT doesn’t matter as the ET doesn’t take that into account. I’m sure the others will chime in with analysis of the other numbers but the ET and trap are looking pretty good to me. Good work getting to the strip.
GREAT FUCKING TIME!!!
MPH of 124 is very very strong
60’ is decent at 1.86 but leaves a tenth on the table
330’ time is frankly not so good…must have been a bad 1-2 shift and or 2-3 shift. For perspective dan@jhm ran with tune/exhaust/clutch 12.29…with an identical 330 foot time. This car should be in the 4seconds at 330’.
Shows how strong the car is the rest of the way…3rd and 4th gear fly. Another metric in dragracing is 1.55x the 1/8th et = the 1/4 et. Your 1/8 et is decent…but 1.55 x 7.7 is 11.9…so again it shows your car left a ton on the table (relatively) in the first half. Probably a result of someone driving a customer’s car…not wanting to rape it. The 2nd eighth time is indicstive of a car that can get much deeper…although centrifugal superchargers are top-end focused so could be a by product.
Fyi not even the vaunted b5 s4 or rs4 has matched that MPH on pump gas.
Congratulations TTS and MRC!
Once again, great time guys, and THANK YOU for posting up a time. Get your timeslips in the thread, and hopefully some video…
at around 1pm, using Northampton weather (20 miles away from Santa Pod)

30.57 inches Hg

Unfortunately there best run was there first run at about 4:35pm, But I didn’t get there until about 6pm, so I don’t have video of that one. I only have video of the last run. We where hoping for ALLOT more tries at it but there where loads of track closers and the problem with dougs car meant we wasted to much time trying to get that one going. I’m sure we can go back very soon and have another try at it.
Here is the time slip.

And here is the only video I managed to take of the 11.88 @ 124.07 run. Another problem stu said he was having was that he was just clipping the limiter in 4th before the line I’m not sure what they had the limiter set at…but it needs increasing a little for the next try.
very nice! Car is moving with a very healthy trap speed… I agree with Saki there is alot left in that car on the front half of the track, which would result in a much better overall et… That car is 11.5 or better with a better launch… thanks for sharing the slips and vid!
Yes I feel there is defiantly room for improvement. Please remember that we all openly admit that we are not 1/4 drivers and don’t really know what we are doing. lol. It’s just not such a big thing over here in the uk.
I would like to get a proper driver in one and aim for somewhere around the mid 11’s.
Careful though, 1/4 mile racing can get addictive, especially if you’re also into tuning
great job getting out there and running, but that time slip date looks fishy… I jest
That really is some trap speed. I understand they went back today?
I don’t think they have gone back today. stu from mrc is at home and we cant get hold of Doug. So he is either sat at home with the family…or he is there practising like hell but not telling anyone unless he doesn’t do well. lol
hey you guys did awesome
here’s a good exercise for you to understand why we all bitch and moan for quarter mile runs
check run one (great) …11.71 with a decent launch (1.86 seconds to go 60 feet)
vs
run 2 …12.02 with a frankly disastrous launch (2.17 !!! Seconds to go 60 feet)
the second run is the run everyone who hates on the quarter mile fears the most…and uses as their excuse for why quarter mile is too driver dependant
just look at the trap speeds…124.7 vs 124.0…nearly identical yet the cars would be crossing the line a bus length apart and the second run wiukd be considered something of a disaster by most who don’t understand the dragstrip. This trap speed is the story about the car. If you guys got one pass in…the second one…you’d be barely faster than the fastest naturally aspirated rs4…but we would see the 124 mph trap and KNOW the kit is legit.
the 700 whp guys who are full of excuses should check this thread out to understand why all the “we just can’t drive that’s why our times/mph are bad” are rejected…the nominal variance in trap speed betrays that excuse.
(the two runs also show that 1 tenth 60 foot on audis does not equal two tenths difference in 1/4 mile elapsed time…that’s a rwd only rule. Its more 1:1 or 1:1.5 on our cars)
