S6 V10 JHM tune

If its helpful. JHM left the cars ability to be more swift in S mode left unbuffered so that means that with the big added jump in Tq from the JHM tune there is no buffer. The D mode allows a different OEM TQ delivery. So you had to put the car in S mode for the past 10 years due to the OEM tune being so restrictive. I say give D a shot for a few days and see how you like it.

The difference is D and S is how the throttle acts. This is like this on All Audis RS4 S4 S5 S6 S8 RS7 etc. with the JHM tune your going to be able to make more Tq with less throttle input so it might be something to try.

Or if you are really set on not takeing it out of S mode… and I feel you there because I love JHM S mode in the S4. Just remember in S mode you dont have to give it the same amount of throttle that you gave the car before getting JHM tuned

Thanks. Whereas the D mode was previously only for when my wife was driving home (usually during the rare event that I needed a designated driver to get home) with the JHM tune, I have been using D mode more, specially in stop and go traffic. Today after a spirited highway drive, I attempted to move the shifter from D to S mode and realized that I had been driving on D mode all along and had not noticed it because the car was so responsive. I used to miss my 911 during the winter because of the acceleration gap when going to my winter car. Not anymore. The S6 is just as much fun!

Is there a way in VCDS to check to make sure my JHM tune is loaded correctly? I’ve read all these reviews on this tune and honestly haven’t noticed much difference. Everthing seemed to be successful when the tune was loaded. Where do I navigate to in VCDS to check things?

Pull up the ECU part number in the engine module and send me a screen shot I will let you know. It is possible you could have flashed stock over stock. Also keep in mind depending on your conditions the cold start power reduction might be active. Also it takes a few days for the ECU to fully adapt if the fuel you have isn’t the greatest it can take longer to adapt.

You will notice the car gets faster and stronger each day.
