Sooooooo…I have pretty much decided on the P3 vent replacement. Never even knew it existed till someone pointed it out. Disappointed in how this thread morphed. A moderator can lock it before it gets out of control.

Anyway, the P3 looks pretty cool and not boy-racerish. Also has an (admittedly potentially inaccurate) 0-60 mph function I believe so that’s neat.
It’s not that I am easily put off, but it just seems that most threads on the RS4 forums tend to spiral out of control once two opposing view surface. I don’t mean to stereotype, but people on the forums start to take personal attacks at each other if they disagree. This derails the whole intended conversation.
Two opposing views can surface without issue. If some idiot troll shows up, sure it will derail things.
Either way, you’re in the military. A couple of people having an opinion and getting heated about it (say in the SC threads etc) shouldn’t be off-putting. Should be a pretty normal occurrence (among those of the same rank).
What in the hell does my being in the Army have to do with anything? Do not take this down that route. The point I was making is that the post was derailed early on when I asked the original question. I honestly could give a f*ck about anyone’s opinion of how it looks, or whether or not it serves a purpose. That is half of the problem with posting a question. People begin to inject their opinions into things, and the original question is rarely answered. I am thankful that I was able to actually get someone to answer the original question, and not on this forum. That is why I asked for a moderator to lock it. Simply put, it morphed into a petty trash talking thread that was providing no real valuable input. Period.

Just saying you have told us many times you’re in the military and I’m sure you’ve seen people have disagreements. What’s the big deal if it happens on a car forum.
Also if you don’t want to hear people’s opinions, don’t post on a car forum. The key word being forum…which according to my dictionary is…

do put your shift light in, you’ll love it.
if you race, you’ll run more consistent ET’s; if it has 2-stage capability you’ll have a much easier time leaving at a given rpm while watching the tree count down.
if you’re street squirelling, it’ll enable you to have situational awareness so you don’t do something horrible to yourself or someone else.
Long ago i caused great, severe bodily harm to a close friend in a non-speed related accident, due to my bad judgement - nobody should have to live with either side of that scenario.
It was and is an indescribably painful lesson.

Looks like a pretty neat piece of kit. Aside from the shift light, useful data for the supercharged V8 owner! What was the other data display option for the B6/7 cars? It was something that used the centre MFD IIRC.
The other data display is the STE PPD.

Is the shift light noticeable though? I’d assume its some annoying flashing thing so you can see it out of the corner of your eye.
Yeah, I am actually pretty proud of my last 19 years in the Army, and I will tell you that the difference is quite simple. Either conflict (personal not armed) can be contained pretty quickly, or spiral out of control. That is what I was attempting to do. Things apparently on most of the Audi forums tend to do the latter.You are also right, I did bring up a picture being used on Facebook. It was simply an observation I had made a couple days when I opted on the page. It elicited a response, but only for one tiny post. The other observations about the tach, although slightly off topic, still had something to do with a potential product that was brought up. Now that that is settled we can be friends 
more off topic: your car set some pretty serious trap speeds for a stage 1 supercharger kit now that they have the catback on it.
