Great times Pete. That’s awesome. Who won the guessing contest?
Also looks like launch control worked great on need 4quattro. Those 60 foot times were a good 1.5 tenths better with lc rather than without. However the without times were terrible…no offense. Just not typical of b8 s4 DSG cars with your mods. Wasn’t like it went from great to greater. Wonder why that was.
P. S. So Pete… What did your lightweight wheels plus race gas get you… 3 tenths and 2-3 mph? ‘massive’?
Tough to say. In assume the large difference in DA played a factor in the delta with his times. With a DA similar to his pump gas run I’d say he could pickup a tenth maybe close to two over his current race gas ET and probably 1mph…
Pete/Needquattro, Yeah when the APR pulley was first released I identified this and a few others did as well… I logged some stuff and sent it to Arin and they resolved in it under a week and probably would have gotten it done sooner but it was the 4th of July weekend… I would reach out to GIAC and have them take a look especially with Tyson’s car being DSG I figured they would have encountered this… Hopefully, they can get it corrected quickly… Keep me posted and let me know if I can help in anyway… later Ron
Prime, I think Pete will be logging his dads car tonight and I will try to make it out there and make some pulls as well. I don’t see why it would take much to resolve since the 91 and 100 files don’t have this issue.
What also bothers me about this tune is the huge gap in times between using launch control and not using it…
Cool… That is interesting that it is only happening on the 93 tune… I figured the 100 would cause it to be even worse based on what I believe the cause was on the APR issue… Did you try making a pass on 91 tune?
That’s the weird part- 91 and 100 have been tested by Austin and Tyson with no issues but now the two first 93 DSG cars have the issue. They were both flashed at the same location which is the only thing I can find in common between the two cars. Wonder if they loaded an incorrect file or flashed it incorrectly. I doubt it but its a possibility I guess.
Sak - You are right the lightweight wheels help for sure.
You asked “What did your lightweight wheels plus race gas get you… 3 tenths and 2-3 mph”. I’m merely saying that we have seen ET’s improve 3-3.5+ tenths with race gas being the only major change.
We both agree that the lightweight wheels also improved his ET hence my conclusion that his DA was more of a hindrance than his lightweight wheels were of beiinefficientficientit.
I still feel that with similar DA to his pump gas run he could have reduce another 1-1.5tenths on his ET (which is what I believe the lightweight wheels add on their own).
Spoke to a guy in stands who claimed to have spoken to the owner. Said it had JHM tune and exhaust. I would like to know 100% though since I didn’t speak to the actual owner
Someone brave lol. I think it looks badass. Needs some tougher elements though like black window trim and a window tint. I love Volks…wonder what size those are. The ones I see around are always (annoyingly) 18x7.5
Are those winters? edit: they look like PSS maybe.
There is a guy named dufferdude who appears to have a similar looking RS4 in his avatar…however dtoys4.2 just claimed the pictured car as his own. He is from Queens
The car looked ridiculous, my favorite wheels of all time. My guess is 18x10. Tires were PSS 275/35/18 and had a slight stretch. He was running. I personally saw him run once but he missed 3rd and ran a 13.5@105 I believe. My girlfriend saw him run 2 12 second runs though- atleast that’s what she told me.
Yup- show n go is a bunch of slammed vw’s but all I go for is the 1/4 mile passes lol
