Small Intro

Hi guys,

I’m Peter, figured I’ll post up here. I was actually on the phone with JHM and that’s how i heard about this site

First a bit of an intro about my previous car, 2006 Audi A4 2.0t quattro tiptronic. My first Audi, it went through a few stages in its life. It got totaled in a rear end by a BMW driver exactly a week before waterfest.
You might of seen it at G2G’s, events or wherever else. I put quite a bit of work into that car, maintenance wise and etc. I actually finished doing all the bigger maintenance and some mods, like mounts, FMIC, new intake, BBK, and other goodies two weeks prior to incident in preparation for Waterfest. I was suppose to Auto-x.

Kinda wish the accident never happened as I’m now dealing with back issues =/

Car was deemed totaled which I was glad about because it seems like a lot of stuff got affected, but it also meant I had to find a replacement quick. I drive pretty much every single day to work and school. I live on Long Island and work in Manhattan so train is doable but a pain in the ass considering what I would have to go through and at my current job i have a driveway i can park in so it’s alright.

Accident happened in July of this year and it must of been possibly the worst time of the year to find a decent replacement within a price acceptable price range for me because I seriously couldn’t find much, whether it would be a B7 A4 2.0T again or B7 S4. I looked on ebay, autotrader, craigslist, classfieds on Audizine, EA, and other forums and there wasn’t much available. There actually werent many, if any B7 S4’s for sale.

I told myself I had to get a 6spd but i couldn’t find one in the price range. So I found this CPO 2006 S4 in tiptronic at an Audi dealer in jersey. Priced lower than what was available for similar mileage on Ebay. So i jumped on impulse without thinking it through too much. I was too excited about getting into a car that was a dream car for years. I had some issues along the way with it, more specifically with the dealer, I wanted to sell it or trade it in shortly after but I would of ended up loosing way too much. So I’m staying with it.
And what do you know, 2 months later all these s4’s start popping up for sale. I was pissed but whatever.

Here is two pics of the S4 that I have: Car already looks a bit different than in the pics but i havent had the chance to take some recent pics of it.

I have a RS4 magnaflow 16689 installed.
Coming soon (hopefully all by end of this year)

  • Next week piggies
  • week after that JHM tune
  • either the same week or next, H&R coilovers

Next year:

  • Tint
  • Hotchiks rear sway (maybe RS4 version)
  • filler plate
  • roof spoiler

great intro. Love the pictures.

Hey Pete, welcome!

We’ve pm’d about led lights & such previously on AZ.

I think you will be very happy with the S4 especially with all of the supporting mods available and the work I know you are willing to put into it based on how nice your A4 looked etc.

Very nice. Keep the info and pics coming. Welcome aboard and ya can’t go wrong with the JHM go fast parts. I understand you not wanting to be in an autotragic, but the new tip tuning JHM has going on is actually pretty exciting.

Welcome. Don’t at all fret about getting a tip over a 6 speed. JHM is changing the tiptronic game

Thank you!

Yes we did, I have since changed up my setup. Although I still use the same exact resistors and haven’t redone the wiring to make it more cleaner but its good for now.

I’m going a slightly different route with this car, headlights are getting a different look. I did the clear corners yesterday, I thought i had paint but i didnt so that stays for another day.

If i remember reading correctly the B6’s had it easier to pull the TCU out, but i’m still curious to see how the car will be with just the ECU tune

Yea some days I’m disappointed but others I’m happy
