The kit covers 10"x23", 3 or 4 of those would possibly cover it. Lol
I can’t really take myself seriously here, that’d take like way too much extra effort haha.
This site sells stuff in sheets… They have a pretty big list of customers who use their stuff, and they don’t specifically do car stuff, but could probably do something with a sheet.
lqmeh, great looking out. i wish they made that kit in a bigger size because id definitely go for it. im going to see if Matt @ Ocarbon is willing to take the job on. Would also love a set of carbon fiber fenders as well. oh im drooling!
why not just some thin aluminum sheet over a wood frame or something for the roof? The carbon fiber isnt going to be much lighter really and the cost is absurd. You just need something to cover your hole up, doesnt need to be structural.
yea but i still want it to look decent too. if the rood was flat like my old vw’s id just throw a sheet of lexan and call it a day. there is a curve to it and dont want to make it look like complete dinkle ya know?
I also emailed that company that makes those small kits, they are planning to produce a larger kit at some point, but not the size of a sunroof on any car ;D
yea, ive been practicing a good bit too and so far with one hand im pretty decent. im sure once i get a real mask were im able to use both hands to steady it ill be ready to do my exhaust
Id be more than happy to discuss some techniques for how to pop a mold and make a composite parts for this sunroof plug / filler in either carbon or fiberglass. This would apply to replica fenders in composites as well although those are more complicated. Let me know if you guys have questions.
