Cherry is awesome. No filter, and is very hockey smart.
It’s funny watching a US broadcast on NBC or something because they speak to the audience assuming nobody knows a thing about hockey, and they also try to pump it way up to hold the audience’s attention (since hockey has such a tenuous grip on the consciousness of Americans).
Whereas the Canadian broadcast is more matter of fact, informed, and speaks to the audience as if everyone has played hockey or watched hockey for 20 years+. Because they have.

Regarding Emrick - he is very matter of fact. That’s why I like his play-calling so much. None of the frivolous banter you get, e.g., when watching the NBA Finals on ABC/ESPN, where there’s relatively little play-by-play calling.
Emrick gets it right I think, and he makes every play seem urgent and important. That’s my style - very much like the greatest basketball play caller ever:

Go Hawks! These have all been nail biters. Have to hold out hope they have enough in the tank physically to allow their been there done that to carry them through to another Stanley Cup.

That was a depth and goalie win. Third and fourth lines grossly outplayed first and second lines. Crawford made the big saves.

In the SC Finals he has 2 gwg. Scored game 1 and game 5.
Has 3 gwg for entire playoffs. Had one against Anaheim.
Tampa won game 3 4-3
Its very close. Tampa dominated that game but that gaffe by Bishop is unfathomable. Maybe in September when you’ve got a new d core and are not great at communicating or knowing who to trust etc but that was inexcusable. Kind of a bummer to watch that.
I don’t get why they don’t play the backup. He held his own when he played. Bishop is wincing and slow and obviously has a torn left MCL.
It was bad and agree they may be better off benching bishop. If he is not fit then concede.
Dominate? What other than hits did they doninate. I am obvioudly biased but I did not see tampa dominate last nights game. Hawks were much better in all phases of game than previously had been in this series. Good chances all around imo. The Hawks just have that it factor working in their favor.
