Thanks Jimmy, is that some kind of magical penetrating brew?
Yes, QUIKRU posted a machine shop article about it a while ago. It works pretty well. I use the cheapest ATF from NAPA that I can get and Acetone from Home Depot. I use both regularly for other purposes so it works out conveniently for me too. The stuff reacts fast but I try to avoid getting those chemicals on me whenever possible because I want to live longer.
I lucked out and had the arms replaced a little over a year ago and didn’t have any issues. Honestly that was the only reason I had a shop do it, because of all the horror stories I heard about that damn bolt. I got mine out in 2secs. Another thing the shop failed to do was put any anti seize on any of the bolts they touched. I made sure to put that on every bolt I touched down there.
Luvsspeed thanks for the update. I just now saw some of the other posts and Im sorry I somehow missed them. Great that you got it figured out.
Very interesting thread. Thanks for sharing this luvsspeed
Its not a problem. Thanks for taking the time to look. We all miss things and have lives outside of the forums.
