Our car has 4 years and 70,000 on it and when you put it in gear, there is no clunk whatsoever. Most automatics when you engage them you get that clunk. Someone told me to do that ages ago, and it makes sense. I’d rather the ebrake held the car in place when parked than the transmission. Of course it’s not very scientific but seems to work well.
