two cars enter... one car leaves

Yeah, exactly. The shop told me they needed it to be a rolling chasis to get it out of the place. To reinstall the wheels, suspension, control arms, and brakes is going to cost me money in labor, and I would rather just have all those parts off the car to sell or keep as spares.

I agree with the dolly option. I have already looked at Princess Auto, and they seem to be pretty cheap for a couple of them. In the end, I guess I will have to let the shop make the recommendation. For whatever reason (maybe legal?) they said there is no way they can think of to get the completely stripped down shell out of the shop, without making it rolling.

On another forum, the guys recommended chopping it up with a sawzall into manageable pieces and selling the scrap metal. I asked the garage if we could do this, and they said ‘no’. LOL. Actually, we found out later that there are strict rules nowadays in how you recycle your vehicle. You can’t just chop it up and sell the metal.

Ill let you know how it goes.

Aaaahahahah ya you cant just take a car in pieces to tbe recycler thats what chop shops did back in the day. If yiu have your title you can give your car to a recycler tho

So much for the good ol’ days when you could chop up a car in the afternoon, and then laugh about it over a few beers that night. Ahhh… I miss those days

Just chop it up and throw small pieces away overtime each week in the trash

Mail some of the parts randomly across Canada, and leave the main chassis in a suitcase behind your apartment

When you chop the car up, film the whole thing, with True Faith by New Order playing in the background. Let your dog eat some of the parts while they’re still on the chassis. Fuck the chassis too. All on video. Then post it online and go to Germany to hideout.

You see that corpse fucker almost puked and passed out while they played the video in court…

Wow, this thread took a fucked up turn.

Following along for results, should be badass

You got some sick fuckers up there in Canada, eh?

There are some new (top secret) developments lately that should take this project to the next level. Expected completion will probably be sometime in the late summer/early fall.

Ill keep you guys posted!

That 4.2 chassis would be ideal for someone (like me) to build up. There’s got to be plenty of C5 narrow body guys looking to go wide.

^^^that’s what I’d think

update

After much debate, I finally decided to replace the bad auto trans with another auto trans. Cost was the main factor for the decision. GTA S6 gave me an incredible deal on a used S6 transmission, which saved me a few thousand over another 6speed swap. So (for now) the S6 is sticking with auto.

The new trans is in the car, and it is at the shop awaiting brakes and coilovers. Finally received the last of the parts today

18z calipers with JHM 350mm lightweight rotors for the front

H&R coilovers at an AMAZING price from ECS. Went with the Avant quattro version, although it does not specifically list the S6 as compatible.

Hawk ceramic pads, SS brake lines, and RS6 master cylinder

Also got ECS rotors for the rear along with ceramic Hawk pads.

I sold one set of my 17z to a guy with an A4. They look incredible on his car

Hope mine looks as good.

How did that Brembo deal work out for you?

I sold one set of 17z. I still have the pair of 18z, and it looks like the other 17z will be sold very soon. I had issues with the powder coating. Not major, but still an annoyance. I dont want to post all the details on the forums because I have come to an agreement with the vendor. In the end, I think they will look great on the car, but the whole project ends up costing quite a bit of money, especially with the 18z. With the 18z, you pretty much have to go with custom rotors, which are $795 plus shipping, taxes, etc alone. Plus you need custom brake lines, pads, brake fluid, custom mounting bolts, and optionally a new master cylinder. Whether you piece it together or get JHM’s complete kit for $1950, it is still costing you a pretty penny. And then, you might as well do the rear pads and rotors at the same time…

On the positive side, the S6 needed new brakes all around to certify, so it was going to cost me anyway, even if I went stock

I just meant because you bought three, and were selling two. Were you going to profit a bit on the other two?

Yeah, I made a small amount. About enough to justify my effort. The main benefit came in the fact that the powdercoating was the same price for one pair as it was for three. So, I got my pair rebuilt and powdercoated for free in the end. If I just had the one set then I would have had to dish out about $400 for that.

That being said, I still have to sell the other set of 17z. Otherwise it is going to end up on my A6. Bye bye profit :frowning:

I dont think I have ever seen breaks look that nice. Much better with pictures

hey thanks. Im definitely happy with how they turned out

Well, the S6 is finally road legal
It is a complete blast to drive in Sport mode. Really feels like a ‘point and shoot’ rocket.

I had the powdercoated blue Brembo 18z’s mounted on the front, and they just didnt look right with the pearl white. It seemed to bring out a greenish tint in the white. I happen to have another pair of silver 18z’s kicking around, so I swapped them in. Not as flashy as the blue, but they suit the car better, I think. Rear rotors are from ECS, with new Hawk ceramic pads front and back. Braking right now seems weaker than my HP2 setup on the A6. Im guessing everything just needs some break-in.

On the RS6 Ill be going with some lightweight 19 inch wheels. So on the S6 I decided to bling it up with 20s. The bigger looking car can handle them visually, no problem. I still have to modify the wheel wells so I can space them out a bit, but they are fine for now.

The car is begging for the RS6 bodykit. I have it all ready to go, just have to find some money for paint and installation.

The stock S6 suspension was swapped for H&R coilovers. The springs that were removed from the S6 don’t look too old. I was looking for markings, but all I could find were some pink and brown stripes. Are these the stock C5 sport springs?
