V6 Supercharger Kit

A4go, I can understand your position so I will try and add quality info if I post in this thread. Have your got your compression test re-done? because you really need to find out if your mechanic screwed it up or if your numbers are really that low. If they are that low you are losing a lot of power and throwing more parts or FI at your car is a horrible idea.

After this comment I now realize you may still be 19, ,so I guess dreaming big isn’t a bad thing. I don’t mess with cars to get hot girls, cars of any kind just interest me, but your assumption that I think the two go hand in hand is pretty amusing.

Too much TV and Car shows.

Half nakid girls at the car shows You would think thats what they want us to think to buy more stuf!

And I am way over 19.

I thing the s/c used for the 4.2 will be too big. IIRC it’s a 800hp blower, and JHM is using a massive pulley to slow the beast from over-powering the 4.2

its not thaaat big of a pulley. Well its not unmanageable. Controlling the throttle can help keep it in check as can other tuning parameters. If JHM is already ordering it by the truckload, using it for S4, RS4 and continuing on the 3.0 A4 seems inevitable

Besides I would guess that the 3.0 can handle power that is not far from the 4.2 rods (guessing if course)

The weak point on all of these motors as far as what gives up first is rods. What do were know about the 3.0 rods?

Euro- I plan to do another compression and leak down as soon as I get her back, they said monday but I saw drips in the paint and I wouldn’t believe them anyways if i hadn’t because they are never on schedule.

I’m sure someone or maybe JHM will get one of these setups on a 3.0 an we’ll find out what it can handle, It seems like it would make sense a newer more advanced motor is going to perform better than pervious motors. Is the 4.2 block aluminum? Wouldn’t that be kinda a main conern with the 3.0 block, being aluminum? and what about a intercooler? It doesn’t look like the S4 above is using one. Would a 3.0 owner who needs some extra protection need one or even if it didn’t produce any gains wouldn’t it be a good idea to run like water meth setup? especially in a climate with killer summer.

4.2 is aluminium

Everyone used to talk about the “paper thin walls” etc. when it was new and nobody knew any better, but nobody has had a failed block.

The weak point on the 2.7t is the rods at around 475-500 whp.
the weak point on the S4 4.2 it is also the rods at about 450-475 whp.

Interestingly, maybe the best b5/6/7 stock engine for holding power is the B7 RS4 engine. With it revving to 8250 rpm, it is built like a brick shithouse. The stress those RPMs put on intervals is insane so Audi over engineered the hell out if it. We have seen a bunch of 500 whp RS4s and they eat it up comfortably. We also have seen 550 whp underground racing R8 cars with that motor…and even 600 whp on UR race gas setups. Haven’t heard of the motor complaining although it is a pretty small sample size.

Have there been any failures of the FSI V8 timing chain system? I can’t find any. Am I right in saying that we don’t anticipate any failures in the FSI V8, being an engine designed later? Another tick in the B7 RS4 column.

Hey I saw there was a question about injectors. I found this site when I was looking at building a 240sx but it can be applied to any car. basically you figure how much power you have/want/need and follow the formula. I planned to get 400hp for the 240sx and it was like 50/lb injectors or 500cc… Its based on a per injector setup. check it out.

http://www.robietherobot.com/storm/fuelinjectorguide.htm

Conversions
500cc per minute is approximately equal to 49lbs per hour which is equal to approximately 100hp.
lbs/hour = cc per minute / 10.5
lbs per hour = HP / 2.04
cc per minute = lbs per hour x 10.5
cc per minute = HP x 5
HP = cc per minute / 5
HP = lbs per hour x 2.04

Personally, if I could get 400 hp+ outta this car, i’d be happy. even better, if I could hit 10’s in the quarter mile that would be my dream. I want to keep it daily driver capable but being able to accelerate to 130+ in 1200ft and do it in 10 seconds, thats titties.
