JHM or ECS should have the oilder one. To be honest I think its the same one that the dealer will give you its just that the dealer is forcing a valve cover update on you
These are the ones I ordered from fcp for the s8, my understanding is that one has an extra piece to it that you can cut out add it won’t fit your current valve cover. I hope to actually compete the service on Wednesday abs will take a picture if the difference.

Great add on. It would be very helpful to get a write up and some pictures to see just what was added and what needs to be removed. Im interested as I dont remember hearing that the RS4 guys needed to remove anything on there valve cover gaskets as they have the same issue
Yes, the new valve cover gasket has a connecting piece (I think it was near the breather hose hole in the valve cover). It will be very obvious as the channels in the valve cover cut right across the two ends of the extra piece. You’ll also see the difference in the old gasket. I just took a sharp razor blade to the two ends of the section on the gasket and then it fit perfectly.
So I got the driver side done. Didn’t have enough time to get to the passenger.
I do have one question, there is a sensor going through the valve cover into the block on both sides, what is it and how do I remove it? It would make the passenger side easier if I can get it out.
But here are pictures of the two gaskets. You can see the added piece.

I think ill save myself $200 and so the same! thanks for the pictures, ill get mine ordered up. even with shipping its cheaper for me to order them from the US than anywhere in Europe!
Really wow thats crazy to think about.
Nobody was selling the driver side valve cover gasket (07L103483J) when I was searching for one last Nov. I had my mechanic re-seal it with silicon seal instead. No leaks so far.
But now I see it at ECS Tuning: https://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-C6_S6--V10_5.2L/ES286135/ with a note: “From production date 9/26/2007”
I think my car was a Jan 2007 build. Does anyone know if I can also do the razor blade hack described above?
Email JHM about it and see what they say. I know they have had several S6 cars in for service and you would think they know the best route and option without breaking the bank. Let us know what you find. You really want to get the most latest updated valve cover gasket. Even if you have to modify it.
