We were talking burnouts...(pic and vid)

We were talking burnouts and S4s and RS4s and gearing etc.

So I asked 81BEAR to grab a pic of the little patch I left at Toronto Motorsports Park on the little road from the road course to the pits. Sure enough, he found it!

I also had a little video of a burnout in the RS4 so thought I’d throw it up here too.

and the RS4 vid I made a while back had a little mini-burnout in it at 22 seconds

and here’s a little rip in my old B7 S4 with a little help from JHM launch assist

Anyone else got any? It’s fun to be a jackass.

me joking around a while ago, I didn’t get into the throttle good after so it bogged and I didn’t bother

headers sound so good

I’ll find one I made a while back…or just make a new one since now that I think about it I have no idea where I have that vid…

OEM clutch isn’t so bad on the RS4. It’s the damn slave cylinder return/release line that f’s up things. USP makes a stainless line and steel slave cylinder package for our car. I’ll be swapping them in when I do the flywheel/clutch combo.

Shitty video and it’s before the tune. First one is at :15, second one which is better is at 2:20

I think it’s time I make a new one…after I get the snow tires put on muahahahaha

hood-rat pro tip:
For those S4 owners with the tune, if you want to smoke the tires, don’t use LA. 3700rpm and dump it is the best way to light them up intentionally. The best ones are when you mat the gas, and dump the clutch on the upswing. Be VERY careful because if you dump it too late you’ll smoke the clutch. I dump it when I see the needle at around 3200. It builds revs so fast with no load when you have the LWCP and LWFW that by the time your foot moves it’s at 3700

Nice vids Saki! You can launch pretty good. You get a bit more wheel spin on a 3750rpm launch compared to a 3500rpm launch…obviously, but launching at 3750 sure looks good. I gotta try this!

Headers make a beautiful sound that’s for sure. DuncanC’s S4 sounds very similar to beemercers.

I’m not so clutch sharp, so I’ll ask…what does this cause? I’ve seen a few folks complain about the clutch pedal sticking about half way up after getting beat on a little. This is apparently a weak part on the 2006-2007 RS4s that was corrected for 2008. There’s a TSB and it’s a pretty easy fix.

it’s time you invest in video editing software…which is actually free. Jesus…waiting like 10 minutes for you to go shopping, then turn around and return to the camera lol.

hahaha, wow does that car squat when you drop the clutch! It does sound damn good too. You find it much different in launching the A6 vs S4 due to the added meat on those tires you have vs the s4?

well that vid was with the 225 snow tires so it wasnt too bad, with the RS3s though I nromally have to go up around 5k rpm to break them loose… hence all the broken shit on the car lol

Post 8 - ignore the rest of the thread it’s mostly noise and no meat.

I’m not convinced there is an actual TSB. I PM’d back and forth with Jimmy and he couldn’t produce one. Long story short, you nailed it. After a few 2.5K to redline pulls while at WOT in any gear, the clutch pedal will (for me) not stick halfway but become super slow & spongy. If I pump it once it goes back to normal. It’s just a different result of that same part failing or not functioning as it should. What doe sit cause? For me, an annoying situation. Maybe a tiny bit of clutch slippage between gears because it’s slow to get back to the engage /friction point.
